Divine Emperor of Death

2733 Handing Over The Souvenir

After thinking a while, Davis gazed at Deathseeker's antics before he opened his mouth.

"For now, there is no one, but in the near future, I might point at someone."

"Is that so? That's fine too."

Deathseeker raised his head at Davis and looked disappointed, but then, he displayed his teeth and wryly smiled.

"My disciple, all of these are the hall's resources, so in truth, I didn't personally give you anything out of my pockets. You're making me feel bad already."

"Oh?" Davis raised his brows, "I thought you didn't reciprocate?"

"That's ludicrous! How can I not repay my disciple?"

Deathseeker complained, but it wasn't a second before his attention got taken by the Death Essence Orb, which he started treating like it was his precious.

"Alright, I won't keep you here any longer. If you go out, you can contact my death slaves to come to help you."

Davis caught a stone that seemed to be used for something, but as for what it was, he determined that it was like a distress talisman that is used to know one's location when activated. He didn't know if Deathseeker could activate this to know his location, but considering that their second meeting went well, he didn't say anything and kept it inside his spatial ring.

"That's it?"

However, Davis was still confused.

Was he not being taken back to the Ghost Tear Hall for training or indoctrination of some kind? The other party had slaves to boot, not that he condemned it as he had also kept a few before, but still treated them well enough like normal people unless they were his enemies.

"That's it. You can go and learn those manuals. Then, you can come to see me for more training. If you don't, I will eventually come to you to give you forceful training."

Davis chuckled, "Where can I find you?"

"Just go to a branch and contact the Ghost King or the Ghost Emperor posted there. I'll come to you."

Davis knew that Ghost Emperors were basically Grand Elders of the Ghost Tear Hall without the privileges of a Grand Elder as they commanded branches. The same went for Ghost Kings, who were Elders without the privileges of an Elder.

"Alright." He nodded while Deathseeker waved him off as though he couldn't wait to leave and comprehend the essence stemming from the Death Essence Orb.

"Ahaha... you are an assassin? What would happen if the Aurora Cloud Gate came to know about it?"

Rai Zenflame suddenly laughed as his voice echoed sinisterly, causing Davis to turn to look at him.

"Perhaps, you probably will not live that long to find out."

Davis smirked as he waved his hand at Lereza, gesturing her something.

"Wait-!"

Rai Zenflame's expression suddenly changed as he screamed out, but then, his soul body twitched, becoming immobile as he stared at Davis until his eyes closed in a few minutes. His soul had gone into hibernation, causing Davis to blink at Lereza.

"Did you just put a soul to sleep?"

"My powers are beyond your imagination." Lereza lightly giggled, seemingly happier about getting to show off her powers yet maintaining a mysterious air about them.

Indeed, Davis had to admit that he still couldn't tell what race she belonged to. A Wood Dragon? And some kind of wood spirit?

He had never seen the former, and as for wood spirits, there were tons of them with different powers attributed to them, so how would he be able to discern if Lereza didn't reveal?

But still, he felt that she was most likely a mix between a dragon and heaven-tier spirit of wood attribute.

Deathseeker also watched Lereza for the second time but still failed to find her racial origin. He also couldn't tell who exactly she was as he had never heard about her.

Nonetheless, he kept the Death Essence Orb inside his spatial ring and faded into the darkness after Davis left.

However, he saw a bunch of elders in the sky gazing at him. Frowning, he stopped as he gazed at those Aurora Cloud Gate Elders, but seeing them turn around and leave, he wondered what was going to happen to his disciple before shrugging and leaving.

However, Davis returned back to the sect without any hiccup or trouble whatsoever and readily sought Mingzhi after he returned to the island.

He talked a bit with Yotan about his encounter with Deathseeker and told her to let him know if anyone used his name to let them inside after asking him for permission, which made her shocked as she knew that it was someone from the Ghost Tear Hall but still agreed without question which made Davis nod at her with a curious look in his eyes.

Nonetheless, he then quickly returned to the mansion and looked for Mingzhi. Unfortunately, like almost everyone else, she had returned to cultivate, but still, he knocked on her door, waiting for a response.

Ten minutes later, the door opened, and he did place his sights on an exquisite beauty whose looks made him feel strange downside and tingle upside, but he revealed a mysterious smile as he handed her a ring.

"Mingzhi, I have a special gift for you."

Mingzhi blinked, wondering what was going on as she gestured for him to come inside, but then he stayed outside and extended out his hand, handing her a present.

"I already have a wedding ring, no?" She lightly smiled, wondering if a prank was being played on her as she poked her head outside and looked around, searching for Fiora.

However, not finding Fiora, she blinked and displayed her ring to Davis that was on her right hand's ring finger.

It had the patterns of dark clouds twisting around a dragon, appearing ominous but also presented itself as an antique as it gave an everlasting aura, which made it appear mysterious, but such work of craftsmanship belonged to Sophie, making it even more worth it for the both of them.

However, Davis just pushed the ring onto Mingzhi, and only then did Mingzhi feel that it was different than an ornament or a spatial ring. It was a life ring that she hadn't interacted with and had no need for, making her stunned for a moment.

"This is special in its own way. Have fun, and Lereza should help you deal with any struggle you meet, will you not, Lereza?"

"Oh, I sure would."

Davis blinked as he felt some pleasure oozing out of that voice. Could it be that she also watched what happened during the wedding and hated Rai Zenflame for it?

He didn't think that Lereza was watching in the vicinity as he perceived her to be a recluse, even though she was still childish.

Nonetheless, he disappeared from Mingzhi's gaze the next moment.

"You..."

Mingzhi pouted. She wished for something else to happen rather than receiving a gift but later bit her lips, feeling warmed that he had the sense to gift her something. Finding it rather romantic, she bound the life ring and expected to finally see something unique to her path, but then, her eyes widened, her lips curling into a crazed smile.

She disappeared from her location and reappeared in a hall, summoning out a mass of flames that still appeared stale as it slowly floated in the air, but with a flick of her hand, a whip of darkness formed as she directly flailed it at the mass of flames.

"AHHH!"

Rai Zenflame became awake the moment the whip of darkness whipped him, causing him to scream out loud as nightmares of Davis slicing him apart with his deathly scythe haunted his soul, but then, he shivered and calmed, noticing that there was only one person around him and it was a mere female immortal.

"It's you."

He instantly noticed her, then one who was sweetly and pridefully cooking near the backyard to prepare a meal for her family, but he had sinisterly poisoned a whole plate of dishes, pinning the blame on her. His smile became wicked, feeling like he finally got a chance to play more.

"..."

However, just as he moved, he suddenly found himself wrapped around by chains, causing him to widen his eyes in shock as he couldn't even bring out an ounce of energy from his soul body outside, nor make it flow around inside.

Moreover, it intentionally suppressed his cultivation base by a while stage, making him drop to Early Immortal King Stage in prowess yet still not finding a way to use it despite the woman before being at the Level Seven Immortal Stage, someone who should be easy to kill for him.

'What kind of chains are these!?' He became horrified, knowing that he was completely suppressed, but before he could speak out, he heard a seductive voice.

"Tell me. Do you know the one hundred and eight methods of torture used by the Davis Family?"

"I... don't know..."

Rai Zenflame had a bad feeling about this as his eyes flickered, wondering if Davis was still around, but as he saw Mingzhi's lips curl, his expression froze.

"I don't know either, but I, Mingzhi Davis, have a lot of ideas, so let's find out together~"

Mingzhi smiled, her voice becoming sinister as she dumped a lot of weapons by her side, ranging from curved daggers to all the way to sledgehammers. Only the women of this household knew that these were random yet powerful immortal armaments from Sophie gifted out to each and every one of them so that they could see and grasp which weapon fit them better!
