Divine Emperor of Death

2803 Striding Into Another Camp

"You can't be serious."

The Starlight Jade Wolf King asked Mo Tian, looking at him with doubt.

However, looking at Mo Tian's eyes that did not stray away, the Starlight Jade Wolf King frowned.

"What do you want to do?"

Mo Tian smiled and said a few words to the Starlight Jade Wolf King, causing his frown to further.

"You want to test your antidote on someone from the Lumin Family? If you are confident, I'm not opposed to letting you try. However, I assume you understand what it means to fail."

Mo Tian lightly nodded as he was aware that it might ruin the relationship between the Lumin Family and the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan. However, he reassured that the other party didn't need to worry at all but instead entrusted him to do a few things for him before walking away towards the Lumin Family.

The Starlight Jade Wolf King watched him leave but didn't do anything to stop him this time. Instead, he sighed lightly, shaking his head.

'Who knows where this is going to end...?'

Davis went to the Lumin Family's location.

His presence wasn't even noticed as it was a rush and hectic situation with many youths having been poisoned right now.

Davis didn't see much, but he did see someone sprinkling an awful lot of drops of liquid around, which then splashed onto the people, creating chaos that gave them enough time to escape without being interrupted or killed by the Grand Elder.

The thing was... there were at least three of them using this same poison to escape, making him think that it could be some sort of assassin squad that had targeted three people in different locations at the same time, so he figured that someone like that could only be from one of the three supreme assassination powers.

Nonetheless, what he needed to know was about the poison right now, causing him to bend down before an unattended Lumin Family immortal who was still alive yet-

Blue veins ran through this immortal's body like thousands of blue centipedes were crawling inside. His expression was pained, yet he said nothing and only moaned in pain, seemingly hovering between reality and dream as though experiencing hallucinations or vivid nightmares.

He frowned as Nightveil was also in this state, appearing to shudder ever so lightly.

Did this poison affect the soul or the body? Or did it affect both?

Many questions popped up in Davis's head, feeling urgent as he should be able to know a bit more to get the trust of other people and ultimately lead to him achieving his current goal.

Davis was not a poison expert anymore, as he had yet to research poisons at the Immortal King Grade. He had no idea what the hell this even was, much less its origin, so it was unknown to him that if left untreated, it could ultimately lead to a person's death or perhaps even cause permanent damage to their body or mind as it might leave them retarded or crippled.

But from what he could see so far, the time it took for the people who were poisoned to fall to their back wasn't even a minute, which made him understand that the poison targeted their souls at first before encroaching all over the body.

The centipede patterns, although scrambled, also seemed to have appeared from head to toe, depending upon the place they were first infected at.

"Mo Tian? You... what are you doing here?"

Finally, someone found him, causing him to raise his head before his eyes flickered.

"Farle Lumin, take me to your family's healing tent. I have something to say."

Davis stood up as he spoke, causing Farle Lumin's expression to twitch.

"Brother, I really must apologize. I don't have the authority to do such a thing. Besides, the situation is quite serious now, so if I do something-"

"I might know how to cure this poison."

"As I said, if I do something like bringing..." Suddenly, Farle Lumin looked as though he was at a loss for words before his eyes widened.

"You... are you serious!?"

"Perhaps not." Davis seemed nonchalant, "Farle Lumin, would you like to distinguish yourself in your family?"

"..."

Farle Lumin's eyes were still wide, seeing that Mo Tian knew where to hit him to get him to do something.

"I-"

Davis interrupted again, "I see your prowess is only three levels higher, which wouldn't make much of a difference amongst many, even if you're the king of top geniuses in your family. I apologize for interrupting you again and again, but time is of the essence. I presume a sensible and pragmatic you would be able to make the better decision for your family."

Farle Lumin was shaken. He had seen Mo Tian make miracles, go above and beyond the monstrous youths he had seen and heard about, and even survive the onslaught of Xerax, the King-Tier Cyan Soul Rat Immortal Beast whose prowess was five levels higher without even putting up much of a defense.

"Come with me!" He clenched his teeth and picked up the poisoned man with soul force, turning around and leading Mo Tian into his family.

Davis's lips lightly curled as he knew that Farle Lumin was an individual who thought of the family's core interests more than his well-being, but he also knew about his ambition, which was to gain power and influence within the family and distinguish himself.

There was no way he would deny this opportunity that was knocking on his door, being beneficial to him and his family. However, it could be said that he was taking a huge gamble by trusting his words, which put some integrity to the way he called him brother.

With Farle Lumin leading him inside, and since he also wore a white robe, a few people noticed them but didn't stop them, allowing them to enter the healing camp that was instantly set up to treat patients.

As soon as Davis entered, he began hearing the furious voices of some people.

"What are you doing!? I told you not to administer that antidote to him. What are you going to do if it causes an adverse reaction?"

"But master, we managed to find this poison is made from the essence blood and essence soul of a poison variant Three-Headed Hydra, which is used by the Oracle Soul Reaver Abode's second-ranked true disciple Venomweaver Zamak. Don't you think we should try the Three Blossoms Poisonbane Pill that cures multiple types of poison at the same time?"

"Bastard! It is precisely because this poison has multiple properties that it always mutates to damage one's soul, skin, organs, and bones every few seconds, leaving it impregnable by cures that act together at the same time. We must study its sequences and create a pill or separate pills for it to be able to cure this kind of myriad poison."

"But master, this poison has never been-"

"Enough! Since it is also a mutating poison, it is bound to be slow, allowing us to have enough time to study it."

The master and disciple argued with each other before the former waved his hand, no longer allowing the latter to speak. However, they both looked quite young yet acted old with their mannerisms, causing Davis's lips to twitch.

"But that also depends on the amount of poison they're inflicted with, right?"

The two apothecaries turned to look behind as they narrowed their eyes upon hearing an unfamiliar voice.

"Who are- Mo Tian? What are you doing here? Go away."

"That's right. This isn't a place for you to be here, lest you also become affected by the pois-"

"Don't bullshit me." Davis pursed his lips in response, "I know this poison isn't contagious."

"Mo Tian, is there anything I can do for you?"

Just as the two apothecaries deeply frowned, the Lumin Family Patriarch appeared beside him, gesturing for him to follow him, but the way was outside, seemingly not wanting to offend him in the name of politely taking him out.

However, Davis pointed at the poisoned man they carried here, appearing solemn.

"Why have you left one of your family members out to die?"

"This... Mo Tian, you should know that our personnel is limited as there are only two apothecaries and one physician we have brought, so there are only so many we could take care of. We are waiting for the Zyrus Family apothecaries to arrive and the other apothecaries to work together to have a breakthrough- Ai, let's just leave. All we can do is not disturb the apothecaries who are trying to cure everyone while the Elders are keeping them alive by slowing down the poison as much as possible."

"So you're saying that if some people should die first, then it should be this man with a lesser status than the others who are inside the tent?"

"..." The Lumin Family Patriarch appeared stumped before he sighed, "Mo Tian, why are you making things difficult for me? As the Patriarch, I must choose what is ultimately benefi-"

"Well, I have the cure to this poison, so if you're not healing them, I propose to heal them. Farle Lumin, carry this man to my construct set up..."

Davis turned to look back towards the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan's camp and saw a two-story palace with claw and fang carvings suddenly appear.

"... right over there." He pointed, causing the Lumin Family Patriarch to widen his eyes.

"How can that be? Even apothecaries at the Immortal Emperor Stage failed to create a successful antidote to this Myriad Toxic Hydrafang Poison, which is why we fear it to a great extent..."

Davis's brows couldn't help but twitch, wondering if he got caught in an 'oopsies' moment.
