The several previous BDSM gatherings had left a severe shadow on Xia Zhi. At mention of this, his initial reaction was troubled, then boredom—not one shred of enthusiasm at all.

“Why did you change your mind?’ Xia Zhi asked, full of curiosity. “Didn’t you say you would never bring me to those kinds of interesting events?”

“There is a reason.”

Xia Zhi perked up and asked seriously, “What do you mean?”

“This event is being organized by me.” Seeing Xia Zhi enter a sudden state of alert, Ye Qia quickly soothed him. “This is just a way to attract newcomers to this hobby and introduce them to the circle, so it’s more casual. There won’t be anything too extreme. Actually, the old crowd in the BDSM circle is more conservative. The newer crowd is a little more open-minded.  As a professional, I support both sides, but there can’t be any public sex or nudity at the tea party as that would invite legal trouble. I don’t want to make it into a lewd midnight party. Oh, a tea party is…”

Xia Zhi was confused after hearing all this. Seeing Ye Qia ceasing to explain, Xia Zhi prompted him, “What’s a tea party?”

“Well, there are too many concepts. They’re a bit complicated to explain,” Ye Qia muttered to himself, then said, “Let’s put it this way, I’m organizing a promotion to attract new customers, similar to a supermarket holding a lottery on the street. So, I need to borrow Queen’s villa from you.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Zhi came to a realization and said angrily, “You only wanted me to lend you Queen’s villa!”

“So lend it to me, darling?”

The way Ye Qia smiled subtly with his eyes squinted was simply far too lethal. Xia Zhi’s anger suddenly subsided and after a moment of desperate resistance, he was still defeated. “I can lend it to you, but you have to bring me!”

“Of course, didn’t I invite you just now?”

Xia Zhi still didn’t think things were quite right, and added, “And you have to pay rent!”

“How much do you want?”

“1 million!”

Ye Qia immediately said, “I could also borrow from someone else. Bai Min has said that he could gift me a…”

“Huge markdown on rent, 90% off!” Xia Zhi slapped the table as he shouted, “You have to bring me!”

Mother Xia brought out congee from the kitchen, asking, “Where are you going?”

Ye Qia said calmly, “We’re preparing to ask some friends to attend an event with us. Would auntie like to come?”

“No, how unfitting it would be for an old woman like me to go with you young ones.” Mother Xia placed the congee on the table and stroked Xia Zhi’s head. “Go and have fun, don’t worry about me.”

No longer unused to the bizarre, Xia Zhi lowered his head and silently dug in.

After Ye Qia’s explanation, Xia Zhi learned that a “tea party” was a gathering held by famous individuals within the circle, regardless if they were an S or an M. For a more well-known professional dom like Ye Qia to hold one, it was typically for the purposes of gathering new clients. In short, it was no different than the supermarket sales ladies with little trays of samples for customers to eat.

Obviously, doms were the samples on the tray for others to eat.

“So anyone can ‘eat’ you?” Hearing Ye Qia’s explanation, Xia Zhi’s expression wrinkled.

“Of course not.” Ye Qia glared at Xia Zhi. “It’s been many years since I’ve held a tea party. I don’t publicly seek clients at all. This time it’s because there’s a dom under my care who is debuting, so as a teacher and a protector, I’m organizing this tea party for them.”

“What’s a protector?”

“A protector is exactly what it sounds like.” Ye Qia waved his hand. “You don’t understand these matters of the circle, so just take it as my student has graduated and I’m helping them draw in some clients.”

Half understanding, Xia Zhi said, “What you mean to say is, you’re actually just a gimmick to attract clients.”

Ye Qia rolled his eyes and nodded.

Xia Zhi thought for a moment and said, “Isn’t this just false marketing!”

“Of course I’ve disclosed that this is organized for my student.”

“But it has your name on it.”

Ye Qia was silent, then said irritably, “Why are you suddenly so clever at a time like this?”

Xia Zhi laughed like a degenerate.

It would already be the end of spring at the time of the tea party. The weather was gradually warming up. Xia Zhi was very much looking forward to summer, not only because of his namesake1, but more so because once summer arrived, perky butts and pecs would be out in full force—particularly in parks where there were glistening men of all types everywhere in skintight clothing, covered in sweat.

1The Xia (夏) in Xia Zhi means summer

Because he had been unable to take care of Queen’s villa after inheriting it, the previously luxurious villa was covered in a layer of dust. Xia Zhi was preparing to go a day early to clean up and stay overnight but he was forcibly stopped by Ye Qia.

“It’s fine if you want to die, but leave my tea party out of it.”

“Why?”

“In any case, go hire a cleaning company.”

Hiring a cleaning company would be on Xia Zhi’s dime. Ye Qia insisted that since he had paid the rent, the responsibility should be Xia Zhi’s. He harped on the matter the entire trip there. Only when they entered the villa did he shut up.

This place was simply too BIG!

The last time Xia Zhi was here, he only got a hurried glance. Now that he was here in person again, he realized the villa was frighteningly massive. There were 17 bedrooms alone, not to mention the 200 square meter main parlor and outdoor garden. The decor was lavish and luxurious. Although he had seen this sort of extravagance elsewhere before, he couldn’t help but feel his heart surge after personally swimming in the wave-simulating pool.

“This is my villa, yo!” He exclaimed to Ye Qia by the poolside, as he was happily thrashed by the waves. “It’s all mine!”

Ye Qia chuckled and said, “Then I’ll go ahead and swipe your card for the cleaning company.”

“Ok!”

Climbing out of the pool contentedly, Xia Zhi put on his clothes and felt for his phone. Seeing the text message regarding the charge to his credit card, he nearly fainted. He ran through the villa shouting but could not find Ye Qia. Left with no choice, he called him on his phone.

“Hello?”

Xia Zhi yelled straight away, “The cleaning company costs 20,000?! Did you type an extra 0?”

“No.”

“20,000?! For one time?”

“This cleaning company specializes in upscale villas and is extremely good with luxury projects. Also…”

“I don’t want to hear the cleaning company’s marketing spiel!” Xia Zhi clutched his phone, roaring, “20,000! You only gave me 50,000 in rent!”

“Who told you not to keep up with the maintenance of the villa.”

“Fuck, Ye Qia, whose side are you on? Mine or the cleaning company?”

“Yours of course, darling.”

No matter how sweet the words were, the money still needed to be paid. Watching the cleaning company’s grand exit, Xia Zhi gripped his credit card with an expression of crying without tears. When Sheng Le and Jia Jia appeared in the evening, Xia Zhi’s expression grew even darker.

“You’re the one debuting?”

“No.”

“Then why are you here?”

Sheng Le said with conviction, “How can a student not turn up when his teacher organizes a tea party?”

Xia Zhi reluctantly accepted this logic. “White won’t come, will he?”

“He can’t, he’s being dragged to a blind date by his mother, hahaha.” Sheng Le couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Serves him right!”

Hearing this, Xia Zhi grinned. After grinning foolishly for a bit, he thought of something. “Wait, if it’s not you, then who?”

Sheng Le asked, perplexed, “You haven’t met them yet?”

“No.”

He had just answered when the lights suddenly went out.

After reading everyone’s messages, I’ve decided Magician and Gourmand will happily live on. The realities of the circle can be experienced by someone else…囧2.
