Fallen Fate Online

100 Majestic Steps

"Zayne prepared a speech...?" Some of the residents muttered with a dazed expressions.

"Hah, that's incredible! I'm sure I can figure out how to get stronger just from his words!" The guy exclaimed in excitement.

"Heh, Alden knows how to surprise as always." The nobleman smirked, "Well, I won't hide it. This guy's words are interesting even to me."

Alden's announcement caused minor whispers and quite a stir. Alden was a respected figure, but he wasn't the main star tonight, and he knew that perfectly well and how to take advantage of the situation.

"Agh... Alden actually set Zayne up, though that's even a good thing." Lucia smirked, "If Zayne had known about Alden's plan he would have worried a lot, but now, he just has no choice but to be himself."

Alden stepped forward, partially revealing his silhouette, and exclaimed so that everyone could hear him, "I'm sure you're all glad to listen to Zayne's speech until morning, but you must understand that he's tired and only came here for all of you, so we'll do the following thing."

Whoooooooooooooooooooosh.

Alden threw up a crystal, which hovered in the air and began to spin rapidly.

"Whoever the beam of light falls on can ask a question to Zayne, after which our hero will get his well-deserved rest. I think that's fair, though you have no other choice either way." Alden smirked as the crystal stopped, and the beam of light headed toward the young man sitting across from the girl with the blond hair.

"Oh... This is unexpected... Has fate intervened?" The young man muttered as deep in his gaze could be seen the surprise.

"If I'm not mistaken you're a Traveler too, aren't you?" Alden asked with a devious smirk, "Please tell me your name."

The young man sighed, nodded, and stood up, setting his glass of wine aside, "My name is Andre Verhe, and yes, you are right, I am also a Traveler."

Andre looked around, then he looked intently at Zayne and asked, "I just have one question, and I think everyone would be curious to know it. What skill did you use to defeat Apostle? I'm sure your battle was dangerous and bloody, but what happened at the very end?"

Everyone looked at Zayne with sparkling eyes. Andre was right, the ending was always the most interesting part, so he hit it right on the mark.

Zayne had two options, he could have started explaining everything and going into detail about every detail. However, it was easier for him to resort to the second option, it was more natural for him.

"Fine, my last encounter with Apostle actually ended up using my strongest skill, so if you so desire I will demonstrate it to you." Zayne said confidently as he stepped forward.

His gaze grew cold, as if he were in the middle of a fight, and two massive wings appeared behind him. They gradually grew larger and larger, covering the entire scene, as if Zayne were the Blood Angel.

Andre gulped, he asked this question for a purpose, but he didn't expect Zayne's skill to be so powerful.

'Well... I guess I'm lucky to see it now. After all, he's the best right now, right? If I want to throw him off the top, I should prepare myself, otherwise, it could be a real failure...' Andre muttered inwardly with a complicated expression.

The girl sitting across from him frowned and bit her lip almost bleeding. Her gaze clearly showed envy and bloodlust.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Suddenly, a mighty clap was heard behind her, which drew the attention of the entire crowd.

A middle-aged man, wearing a long gray mantle, a wide hat, and wise eyes stepped forward. The people who were blocking his path quickly stepped aside, as if afraid to stop him.

"Well, well, looks like it's a really big day. I didn't expect someone of such high caliber to decide to visit us." Alden smirked with narrowed eyes assessing the man.

Most people were puzzled, some knew who this man was, they were surprised, but one person had a special emotion. It was Rea, who didn't expect to see her father here at all.

"Mr. Solomon, did you really have a reason for hiding your presence from us all this time?" Alden said with a slight wave of his hand.

"Alden... Though it's been several years since the last time, you still maintain a balance between boldness and politeness, an amazing combination indeed." Solomon sighed.

Solomon looked around, glanced at Rea, and turned to Zayne, "Traveler, perhaps you know, but before you, I was the one who protected this city from Apostle, however, you managed to kill a Chaos follower, that deserves everyone's admiration."

Solomon waved his hand slightly, and a ghostly ladder appeared in front of him as he stepped onto it and stood in front of Zayne.

Zayne didn't know how to react, he understood that Solomon was an important person, but overall he was puzzled.

"I kept thinking what someone who could beat Apostle looks like, and I'm glad it's a simple and sincere guy like you." Solomon smiled kindly.

"Agh... Is it possible to understand it so quickly?" Zayne muttered.

"Hah, boy, when you get as experienced as I am, you'll find out for yourself that it's very easy. Although, I must admit that something lurks deep in your gaze that I can't see." Solomon spoke with faint thought, then he sighed, "Anyway, I didn't come here to talk.

Solomon touched his ring, which had many different symbols on it, and it glowed brightly.

Whooooooooooooosh.

A massive transparent cube appeared in front of Solomon, slowly rotating in the air. Inside the cube was a small triangular vial of iridescent liquid.

Andre's eyes sparkled, 'Damn... I've done several assignments with the merchant here, and even he didn't have any potions like this... This must be something very valuable... Fuck, Zayne Fellen... he's going forward right before my eyes, and there's nothing I can do about it!'

"Please, I would be honored if you would accept this humble gift from me. I'm sure Fate has rewarded you properly, but I want to do my part, too. After all, I wasn't around this time, and if it weren't for you, my precious daughter would be dead." Solomon uttered earnestly while the cold night wind blew near his mantle.

'Agh...' Rea's eyes went wide as she stared at her father. Though he didn't say it directly to her, his few words were enough to make her eyes tear up.

'Hmm, looks like someone should spend more time on family relationships. Though, it's impossible to be a great mage and an incredible father all at once.' Lucia shook her head and cut off a piece of meat, not at all concerned about her friend's situation.

Zayne nodded, reached out, and took the potion from the cube.

"Thank you, I didn't expect to get something so valuable today, it means a lot to me..." Zayne muttered, looking at the description of the potion.
