Fallen Fate Online

141 Negative Significance

Selania was ready to attack, she had enough power to end Zayne once and for all, who was at death's door, however, his devouring gaze made her tremble with fear.

"What's wrong with his eyes? They don't look human..." Selania muttered in disbelief, "Whatever, it's just his last move, nothing more."

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The currents of energy shuddered as a powerful pulse passed through the sword, making it much longer and wider, like a greatsword.

Selania swung her sword, about to pierce Zayne, deep inside she was slightly worried, but her combat experience told her that her opponent absolutely had no chance.

"Maybe he has a talent in him that surpasses even mine, but after all, he's just a simple young man who has limits like the rest of us." Selania whispered.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Suddenly, dark drops of blood fell on her face as her eyes went wide, and he looked up sharply.

"No way..." Selania shuddered as she looked at Zayne, whose body, from each of his wounds, was bleeding, it was the scarlet rain for which he seemingly sacrificed himself.

[You used Sacrificial Path! Your HP is not enough to withstand the damage!]

[Your body can't hold that much pressure!]

A moment ago, Zayne's heart was beating at its usual pace, maybe a little faster due to the intense fighting, but as soon as he used the skill, it stopped completely. Blood no longer circulated through his body, quickly plunging him into darkness.

'Hehehe... Well done for taking the risk... No matter how badly the beast is wounded, it always has the strength to continue, until victory! An enthusiastic voice sounded as red energy burst into Zayne's heart, spreading throughout his body and giving him a second breath.

[Because of external interference and the combination of several of your Titles and passive skills you briefly gained great power!]

'Go ahead, you may not have any scars... but every battle you've been through has left a mark on you...' The voice said before disappearing.

[HP -> -10]

Zayne didn't know how it was possible, but he didn't pay attention to the voice in his head or the messages, all that mattered to him then was the battle!

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Their swords clashed as waves of energy spread apart. Selania tried to get through Zayne's sword, but she just didn't have the strength to do it.

"Fuck!" Selania shouted, swinging her sword and tossing Zayne aside.

Zayne quickly somersaulted in the air and landed with a deep sigh. In the reflection of the crystals that surrounded him, he saw himself, or rather his blood-red eyes and two long fangs.

'Agh... Is this happening again...?' Zayne inwardly muttered, puzzled, 'Whatever, now all I have to do is fight while I can move.'

Whooooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne lunged forward and Selania responded in kind. Like two flashes they collided with each other, trying to defeat their opponent, repeating it over and over again.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

The massive gate opened, and three men emerged from the passage. It was Luis, Jane, and Dave. All of them had been wounded after their battle with the final boss of the ruins, but there was excitement on their faces at the anticipation of what was here.

"What the hell...?" Dave muttered in disbelief as he watched the red and blue flashes that looked like sworn enemies trying to destroy each other.

"Wait... That's Zayne... But, what happened to him? Why does he look so strange?" Jane was puzzled, staring at Zayne's menacing fangs with a slight shudder.

Luis's corners of his mouth went up, forming a vicious smirk, "Hehehe, who cares? Just watch his power! Apparently, they're both already at their limit, and this is our chance!"

Dave turned around and with an unsure look asked, "What...? Do you want to kill them...?"

"Sure!" Luis waved his hand, smiling madly, "This woman is definitely the true final boss of this Dungeon, the previous one was too weak! Hahaha, we just need to bide our time, that's all!"

Zayne and Selania were completely focused on each other, yet their gazes locked onto the three silhouettes that appeared in the midst of their arena. They didn't need nods or any signals, the fact that their eyes looked elsewhere was enough for them to make a joint decision.

They bounced to the sides, took a deep breath, and simultaneously sprinted forward. However, they moved, not at each other, but at the three spectators, whom they did not wish to see here.

'What...?! Jane inwardly exclaimed, quickly realizing what was happening, but before she could do anything, an azure sword went through her neck, plunging her mind into darkness.

The white blade split Luis in two, his shadowy copy failed to form, and the spear fell from his hands, dropped next to his body.

"No! What the hell are you doing!" Dave as the sole survivor, frightenedly exclaimed as he gripped tightly to his shield, which protected him from the boss's many attacks.

Tap.

Zayne appeared in front of him, raising his fist to strike, "You shouldn't be here. You've already passed the Dungeon, so go back."

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Zayne's fist slammed into the stone shield, causing it to crack and shatter into several pieces.

"How in the world...?" Dave muttered before Selania's sword went through his body, sending him on a multi-hour wait before rebirth. In more than a week of being in Fallen Fate Online, he had never died, until now.

After a second, it was only worth their breath as they continued to attack each other, unsuccessfully, stopping after an unknown amount of time.

"Agh... Agh... Agh... This has gone too far... I don't know what creepy power has settled inside you, but obviously, we're both already at our limit..." Selania said, breathing heavily.

Zayne looked at his injured hands and nodded slightly, "Yeah... I guess I agree..."

Selania began to gather energy for the final attack as Zayne looked up, at the night sky where clouds were gathering, partially blocking the light from the moon.
