Fallen Fate Online

154 Three Versus One

In his short journey, Zayne had already broken three swords, albeit one of lesser quality, but this tendency for all the weapons in his hands to collapse gradually made him look darker.

"He only has one sword left..." The First Girl muttered.

"Yeah..." The second nodded, "Without a weapon, he won't stand a chance against us. We have to get him to use more skill."

Reik and Mage's gazes met as Reik pointed at the girls, signaling. Mage nodded as his staff glowed brightly, then a purple glow appeared around the girls, increasing their strength.

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

The girls lunged forward simultaneously, each stride measured, they appeared like two shadows in front of Zayne, bringing their blades down on him.

Zayne's pupils narrowed as he put out a block with his sword. Four blades rained down on his weapon, directing a mighty pressure on him.

"That's not all!" The first girl exclaimed as electric discharges came out of their blades that pulsed sharply through Zayne's sword, heading for the hilt.

The electricity made the hilt hot, so Zayne's palms were burned. He frowned and, clenching his teeth tightly, swung his sword, tossing the girls aside.

They simultaneously did a somersault and landed in the center of the room, staring at Zayne as if trying to find his weak spot.

'He's strong and fast... Most likely his other physical stats are top notch too, but what about his mind?' The first girl pondered, as he returned one blade to her belt and reached out a hand to her partner.

The second did the same as their fingertips touched. Everyone in the room except Zayne quickly covered their ears, and in the next moment, purple ripples began to emanate from the girls.

"Agh... What is that?" Zayne muttered in confusion as the first ripple reached him.

At the same moment, his eyes opened wide as streams of blood came out of his ears, and his hearing was temporarily lost, then the next pulsation passed through him. A piercing pain was born in his head, which made his face twist, while Zayne was distracted by the pain, the last ripple reached him.

Blood gushed from his nose, his sense of smell vanished completely, and his eyes burst with blood vessels, plunging him into darkness.

[You were attacked by special impulses!]

[You lost your hearing for an indefinite period!]

[You have lost your sense of smell for an indefinite period!]

[You have lost your sight for an indefinite period!]

However, Zayne did not see these messages, for a while he was completely defenseless.

The girls smirked, armed with their blades, and rushed forward. They surrounded Zayne on two sides and attacked simultaneously, confident that their attack would be successful.

The sharp blades were approaching Zayne's neck when he got goosebumps and ducked sharply, letting the blades fly over his head.

'What the hell...?' First Girl's eyes went wide.

"You've taken three of my senses." Zayne said calmly, "But for keen instincts, only one is enough." Zayne sighed and swung his sword.

The sharp blade left a long cut on the second girl's body with a powerful stream of blood as crimson drops fell onto Zayne's face.

"How...?" The girl whispered, shocked, however, Zayne could not hear her, so her question went unanswered.

'Unfortunately, I have to say goodbye to you too.' Zayne muttered, turning to his sword, which lit up in blue flames.

The temperature dropped drastically, and the wine spilled on the floor froze, covering itself with an icy layer.

"Azure Cross... First Form." Zayne whispered, swinging his sword smoothly in X-shape.

The cross collapsed on the second girl, inflicting serious wounds, but she felt no pain as she almost immediately turned into an ice statue. Zayne's sword shattered into pieces, falling to the ice at his feet.

"No... Bastard!" First Girl exclaimed, attacking Zayne with all her might as powerful electrical discharges came from her blades. She believed that her partner had just died.

Zayne couldn't see or hear her movements, and even if he could, he had nothing to defend himself with as his last weapon had just broken.

Tap.

Zayne jumped sharply aside as the girl's attack hit the ground, breaking the ice with powerful lightning bolts.

Zayne's back touched the wall as he touched it with his fingers, sensing the space around him. His vision as well as his other senses were slowly returning to normal, but he needed time.

'Agh... I can hardly see anything, but it's gotten much better already, it's obvious.' Zayne pondered, seeing a blurry silhouette ahead. He saw light, but nothing clearer.

"Tsk. I knew I should have fought at full strength right away." The mage snorted as he struck the ground with his staff. A magical circle appeared around him, from which several flaming ghosts flew out, swirling around him like flashes.

The mage pointed his staff at Zayne as all the ghosts flew in his direction, exuding intense heat that could easily set the forest on fire.

Zayne took a step, as he was about to dodge, but, the purple flashes reminded him of something, fragments of Enar's fight reappearing in his mind again and again.

'Am I going to make it...? Well, if I don't try, I'll never know!' Zayne exclaimed confidently to himself as his hands were covered in a blue glow.

By their appearance, the ghosts were living beings, but in reality, they were blobs of flame or energy that could be reflected as any skill if desired.

Whoooooooooooooosh.

Zayne swung his hand, flinging the ghost aside with the back of his palm. Though the ghost was destroyed, his face grimaced in pain from the burn left on his hand.

'Tsk. I was careless... I must try again!' Zayne bit his lip as his hands turned into a blur.

The first few ghosts left serious damage on his palms, however, Zayne quickly adapted, and gradually his movements became smoother and faster, so the flames could no longer hurt him.

"What the hell...?" Reik muttered in disbelief as he watched Zayne fend off the magical attack with his bare hands. He had never seen such a level of mastery in his life, it was beyond him.

Everyone looked at Zayne as if mesmerized, no one dared to get close to him because they were afraid that one of the attacks would fly in their direction. Towards the end, Zayne had already fully adapted and as if copying Enar, closed his eyes.

"Agh... Fine, that's much better." Zayne muttered, looking at his hands, which gave off a light smoke, "How strange... Though Selania was stronger than Enar, somehow I feel quite the opposite... Did he not fight at his full strength?"

The fight against Enar was difficult and even almost fatal, then, Zayne was consumed with his emotions and fear, dealing with his problems. He didn't have time to ask such questions, but now, remembering the fight in detail, Zayne didn't find answers to it.

'Whatever... I can find out about the Apostles a little later, right now I need to deal with these guys.' Zayne sighed as he stepped forward. His eyes had already fully recovered, he could see everything crystal clear.
