Step. Step. Step.

A multitude of footsteps hurriedly moved in the same direction. Because of the heavy armor, footprints were left on the ground as a group of men in black armor ran forward. Each of them had a massive sharp sword, some of which was already covered in blood.

"Let's go! We must save the Mistress! We're almost there! I can see the light already!" One of them exclaimed as they approached the main room where Nydan was.

They ran at the pained scream that had been coming from the aisle for some time. It was obvious that a woman was screaming, so the Knights thought it was their mistress.

"Bastard! Don't you dare touch our Mistress!" The squad leader exclaimed furiously as he pointed his sword at Nydan, then his eyes went wide as he saw quite the opposite of what he expected.

In front of Nydan was not their Mistress, but Ena, whose body trembled violently because of the waves of pain that passed through her time after time.

"Good girl." Nydan said calmly, ignoring the knights as he gently patted Ena's cheek, "You have endured everything as I expected. Now, take a deep breath and feel how much stronger you have become."

Ena obediently nodded and did as he said. After a long time, the pain began to go away, which finally allowed her to relax, if only for a moment.

"Who are you?" The Knight Commander looked menacingly at Nydan.

"Hmm... A group of knights, as I expected it took you a while to get through the labyrinth. You came for her, didn't you?" Nydan pointed to a cage where a girl with red hair was.

"Guys, is that you?" The girl looked at the knights in disbelief as her eyes shone brightly, "Guys! I'm so glad you came! Save me!"

The fear completely disappeared from her face replaced by a joyful smile that made the knights melt, they just couldn't resist.

"Well, well, look at them. They don't even realize that it's not going to be as easy as they imagine." Nydan shook his head with a bitter smile.

"Shut up. For what you've done I should kill you right here and now, but if you release Mistress right now we'll spare you and send you to prison! As the laws require!" The Knight Commander exclaimed with severity in his gaze.

Zayne looked at the knights, 'Looks like I got lucky. This girl is definitely an important person... Six knights, I'm no expert, but they don't seem as strong as Roland, even though they wear the same armor. When they start winning I'll need to use that to get out of here.'

"Free her? Hahahahahaha! Don't you get it that way?" Nydan laughed evilly causing the knights to chill in their backs, "That stupid girl has gone too far outside of the safe territory, which is why I so easily kidnapped her right out of your hands!"

The knights frowned, for there was truth in Nydan's words.

"Mistress is a young lady, and just wanted to see this world with her own eyes. That we failed to protect her is our fault, but we'll fix that right now!" The commander exclaimed before rushing forward, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly with both hands. The others followed him.

Even though six knights were running at Nydan, he decided to look at Ena instead of getting ready to fight.

"Looks like you've come to your senses already, right? In that case, here is my first assignment to you as my assistant. Show these fools how strong you've become. Each of them is a good source of blood energy, which is why they're here." Nydan said with a slight smile as he took a step back.

Ena nodded silently, stood up, and turned to face the knights. Her gaze was calm as if she could handle them with ease.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

The Knight Commander stopped abruptly, "'Girl, I don't know what you're thinking, but you'd better step aside or I'm going to have to use brute force against you!"

'Shit... Are these knights idiots? Zayne inwardly shook his head, 'It's clear even to me that she's not going to back down. Don't knights with years of experience feel that? It's obvious!'

"Get out of the way? Me? Why? If I kill you, I'll get a lot more out of it." Ena spoke coldly as she carefully placed her palms on the hilt of her daggers.

"Hahahahahaha! One fragile girl against six men! That's a damn funny joke!" One of the knights laughed with a mocking grin.

Step.

Ena abruptly drew her daggers, clutching them tightly, and stepped forward. In the next moment, her silhouette turned into a red flash that in a heartbeat was in front of the knight.

"Agh...?" Knight's eyes went wide as two blades like scissors went around his neck.

"You talk too much for a weakling." Ena muttered as she was behind Knight when his head flew to the side with a mighty stream of blood.

"NO! I'm gonna kill that bitch!!!" The knights exclaimed furiously and charged at her simultaneously.

'Damn, this is bad!' Ena's pupils narrowed as she bounced aside as fast as she could, but one of the swords managed to reach her, leaving a long cut on her arm.

Nydan rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "Hmm, looks like I miscalculated a bit. You alone won't be enough against them. Well, you'll have helpers, too."

Snap.

Nydan snapped his fingers as at the same moment the Fourth-Winged attacked the knights, opening his toothy beak wide. Then, five birds flew out of the passageways, which brought Zayne to the entrance of the cave. They immediately joined the Fourth-Winged.

"Fine, with that kind of support, I can definitely handle them. Thank you." Ena said calmly as she rushed back into battle.

The girls watched the fight closely, for it literally depended on whether they would live or not. At first, their eyes were filled with the hope of salvation, and they practically cheered when the Knights killed some of the birds, but then things began to change.

Ena became progressively stronger and faster, swinging her daggers like a deadly whirlwind and thrusting them into the knights' bodies. They could do nothing to her as she was elusive, and the birds kept getting in their way.

'Fuck... These knights are definitely not on the same level as Roland... They are total wimps! If they had fought us in the Flower Caves, they would have run away from there like frightened puppies!' Zayne inwardly exclaimed in disbelief. He did not understand how the knights could be so bad.

"No... Spare me... I don't want to die because of some stupid girl who can't even obey orders!!!" The Knight commander exclaimed with a pained expression, kneeling before Ena.

The other Knights were already dead as well as all the birds. Only he, Ena and the badly wounded Fourth-Winged remained alive.

"She's the reason you ended up here, right?" Ena asked calmly as she pointed to the girl with the red hair.

"Yes! That bitch is totally to blame for being here! If you want I can deal with her myself! I'm begging you! I'LL DO ANYTHING!!!" The Knight Commander shouted in despair.

Ena looked him in the eye and said, "I understand how you feel, you are suffering because of someone else's mistakes. I actually understand, too bad I don't care."

With a glint of her blade, Ena swung her dagger, ripping his throat open without question.
