Chapter 1422: An Entire Manor as Inheritance

Later that evening, Grandma Jian called Jian Yiling to her room.

“Darling, you’ve truly grown up now and even become a mother yourself. I’m really happy to see this. Even if the Gods ask me to close my eyes right now, I would have no regrets,” Grandma Jian softly said.

A content smile appeared on her kind face.

The Gods treated her well. She almost lived a life with no regrets.

Her marriage with Grandpa Jian was successful and long-lasting. And even though they were old, they were not lonely. They still had children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren to accompany them.

Her sons were all very successful and filial.

Her grandchildren all had excellent careers.

And most importantly, her only granddaughter had grown up and established her own family.

She really had no regrets.

“Grandma will live a long life,” Jian Yiling said with certainty.

“Silly girl,” Grandma Jian said with a smile as she stroked Jian Yiling’s head. “Everyone will pass away someday. I’m already in my late seventies. I’m indifferent about death.”

Upon hearing this, Jian Yiling lowered her head. She knew doctors could cure diseases and save people. However, they could not change someone’s life expectancy.

Grandma Jian continued: “When I saw that man today, he reminded me about something from the past. It just so happens that there is something that I want to give you.”

Jian Yiling lifted her head and looked at Grandma Jian in surprise.

“It’s some land that the Xie family owned in Country M. After my family disappeared back in the day, I inherited that property. However, at that time, I couldn’t bear to visit or return there. I was also worried that if people knew that someone was still alive in the Xie family, they’d do something against me. Hence, it’s been abandoned for all these years since then.”

Grandma Jian deliberately tried to not think about the Xie family. As a result, she eventually had forgotten about the manor in Country M.

After all, she only lived in that manor when she was a young girl.
