She hesitantly took a half step back. Did a saint suddenly appear in front of her? Of course, since this was the Duana Temple, it was not strange that the saint representing the Duana Temple was standing in front of her. However, she did not come to see the Holy Son, but to find out about her divine power. So why?

“Are you a saint?”

When she asked cautiously, Fleon laughed slowly. It felt like his laughter echoed everywhere like thunder. She raised her hands and covered her ears at the sound that drained her mind. But that didn’t mean she could block out the sound. Fortunately, the sound did not linger for long. She lowered her hands that had covered her ears and looked at Fleon in a bewildered mood.

Fleon spoke to her with a wide smile.

“As expected, you know me. I guess I got it right.”

“…”

Fleon seemed very satisfied that she had recognized him.

“Could it be that you were the saint who led me here?”

When she couldn’t bear to sit down and asked him in an argumentative way, Fleon looked at her.

“You will get the answer to your question when you finish talking with me.”

“I don’t understand. Why did the Holy Son call me…”

All she had to do with the Duana Temple was to visit it when she was buying a cure. Her contact with the temple was just that, so why? As she muttered in embarrassment, Fleon smiled warmly.

“Because you know me.”

“…”

Fleon said something puzzling. It was a difficult word for her to understand. What’s wrong with knowing Saint Pleon?

While she was puzzled, Pleon expounded the meaning of what he had just said at length.

“Precisely because you know that I am a saint. Mirabel Hale, you.”

“Pardon?”

“Mirabel. How old are you?”

She was taken aback by Fleon’s question. At first she didn’t understand what he was saying.

Saint Pleon. The name was so vivid in her memory that she couldn’t figure out why knowing him was a reason to meet him. Then she suddenly realized that the time was not right. As he said, not many people would know that Pleon was a saint these days. The saint of Duana Temple who appeared when she turned 20. Because that was the identity of the old man in front of her. But Pleon said that he found her because she knew him as ‘Saint Pleon’.

Realizing what he meant, she gently bit her lower lip. The fact that he appeared when she was 20 meant that ordinary people in this time period should not know the title of ‘Saint Pleon’. Of course, even her. But she too naturally thought of him as a saint. Because it was natural for her.

“Please sit down. Shouldn’t we have a little chat? Miss Mirabel, even if it’s to solve your curiosity.”

Pleon again offered an empty seat in front of him. After hesitating for a moment, she hesitantly approached the seat he had given her and sat down. She needed to talk to him anyway to find out what this was all about.

“Mirabel. You probably know the future. Because you are from the future. Right?”

It was a question, but the tone was clear and convincing. She looked at his eyes full of wrinkles and nodded her head obediently.

“Yes, that’s right. But not all.”

“I’ve been waiting so long for you to come here.”

“Why me?”

Even if she said she came back from the future, the information she knew was very limited. What would be the use of sleeping on the road, or riding on a wagon at the top without getting caught? If she had to play an important role and use future information, she had to become a more noble, righteous, and smart person, not a person who lost her life while wandering around as a mercenary like her.

Fleon stared at her as if he understood her embarrassment.

“Because the being who brought you back found you.”

“…Who is that?”

As she hesitated, Pleon moved his hand. Frightened, he shrank his neck, and Pleon laughed haphazardly.

“Now, take this.”

Fleon took a small velvet pouch from his bosom and held it up. He untied his string and opened the closed door, revealing a heart-shaped pendant with wings. Uniquely, this silver pendant had a picture of a white snake with red eyes engraved on the front. First of all, she received the pendant because Fleon gave it to her.

She looked back and forth at the pendant to see if there was anything else special. However, she couldn’t find anything special. Overall, it was a cute decorative pendant that could be worn by a child.

“What’s this? Why did you give this to me…”

“He is the one who called Miss Mirabel here. If you have that pendant, Miss Mirabel will be told why you came to the past.”

Fleon briefly introduced the pendant.

She blinked, looking at Fleon and then at the pendant.

“The one who brought me…This pendant?”

“Yes.”

Contrary to her bewilderment, Fleon was not at all agitated. It’s absurd to call the pendant ‘him’, but he was only saying that this pendant was the one who brought her back to the past after she died at Daniel’s hands. What the hell was this pendant for? Again she checked the pendant and looked up.

“Please explain in more detail. As for why this pendant brought me back to the past, and why you gave me this pendant…”

However, her question just vanished in vain. Fleon, who was supposed to be in front of her, was nowhere to be found, and only white ashes were scattered on the crystal.

“…Saint?”

She got up from her seat holding the pendant. She got up and looked around, but no matter how much she searched, she couldn’t find Fleon. As if everything that just happened was an illusion. It wasn’t until it was time to sit on top of the crystal again in despondency to open the closed door. It was the door through which she entered.

“My lady, are you okay?”

She reflexively turned her head to check on her at the question in her worried voice.

“Here, the saint was there…”

She pointed to the place where Fleon was. The priest checked the white ashes and put his hands together and prayed.

She wondered if it was what she was thinking, so she opened my mouth and the priest looked at her again.

“You were called by the Goddess. You don’t have to feel guilty.”

“No, just a moment ago… He was right in front of me.”

“Yes. You must have.”

According to the priest’s reaction, it meant that Pleon was dead. It was really short… During the time she checked the pendant and raised her head again. In that short time, Pleon died. It felt like she was possessed by vicious black magic. She felt a jumble of confusion and shock in her head. She probably shouldn’t have come to the temple.

“Come out here at once. Others are worried.”

She turned her head and checked through the door. There, she saw Kalina and Anita, who had visited the temple with her, looking at her with a nervous look. She left the room made of crystal, avoiding the priest’s outstretched hand. And while thinking about going back, she looked back at the priest.

“This, the Holy Son gave it to me.”

“…”

“But this isn’t mine, so I’ll return it.”

As she held out the pendant to the priest, the priest looked at her with a complicated gaze. Then, he immediately shook his head.

“No. The owner of the pendant is the lady. It would be nice if you have it.” said the priest, refusing the pendant.

“I am not the owner.”

“The saint has been waiting for me to deliver it to the lady. That’s why, lady.”

Confused, she checked the pendant. First of all, she thought it would be right for her to have this pendant. Coming out of the temple, she saw the sky that was not visible from inside. Apparently, she set out between breakfast and lunch, but it was already dusk. It seemed that the time she experienced inside the temple and the time outside were different. She came out of the temple and got on the waiting carriage. It was only after Kalina and Anita climbed into the carriage that the carriage began to slowly depart.

She just stared out the window in a daze, feeling a little dazed. It felt like something was very wrong. Fleon said that talking to him would solve her curiosity, but that was all a lie. Rather, it was because the conversation with him had made her mind more complex and full of questions. And she got a load too.

The pendant she was holding in her hand was returned to the velvet pouch. After taking a break for now, it wouldn’t be too late to check again when her mind was clear.

“Excuse me… little girl.”

After she was lost for a while, Anita called her in a small voice.

“Huh?”

“What happened inside? You’ve been in it for a really long time.”

“Yes. No. It didn’t matter.”

She covered it up so as not to transfer my disquieted feelings to Anita. She felt particularly tired today.
