MMORPG: Crowd Control

197 Wanted Level

While the two soldiers left in a hurry to call for their superior, Lei Zhen turned around to meet his crewmen.

"Was Peter Heisen a difficult opponent to apprehend?" He asked them curiously.

The crewmen held a dazed and confused look.

"How could Peter Heisen be difficult to apprehend?" One of the crewmen scratched their head and said.

"I know right, they only managed to injure one of us because we got careless for a moment. Though it was just that split second before we were able to apprehend them all without much sweat." Another crewman responded.

Hearing their responses, Lei Zhen was even more confused as to why the soldiers of Althea reacted in such a manner.

Was it an overaction? Thought Lei Zhen, who couldn't understand the soldier's astonished expression and description of Peter Heisen.

Despite the confusion in his mind, Lei Zhen still calmly waited on the ship deck for the soldiers to return.

Their fuel was almost out and needed to be refilled. Plus, they still needed to get a real professional mechanic to fix the ship's problem.

Who knows if their system would suddenly go down again without notice?

After this first voyage, Lei Zhen learned from his mistake and would prevent them from occurring again.

"Anyway, I wish for everyone here to prepare to learn a bit about the ship's mechanism to prevent a similar situation such as being stranded outside the boundary lines." Lei Zhen asked the crewmen.

The crewmen didn't mind about this because they had known how tough their situation was and how helpless they would be if it wasn't for Candice manually locating their GPS and finding the correct path.

"Yes, Boss, we will definitely study for a bit more!"

"Yeah, we can't be sitting ducks when we are supposedly sailors that rule the sea!"

Although astonished by their excitement to learn, Lei Zhen nodded his head in response.

He had thought his orders would be met with backlash and that they would start complaining about why they should learn it. Never did he expect his crewmen to be that motivated to learn more to educate themselves.

Oh, how proud was he to see people like them working for him?

'Howard's salary might increase at this rate if he kept spotting such talents to be hired.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.

Sometime later, the two soldiers finally returned with a more imposing elderly man that doesn't seem to fit his age.

He was clad in a black uniform and had a big mustache beneath his chin. Though the more noticeable thing was his left arm, one that seemed to be a mechanical arm rather than a flesh one.

Nevertheless, Lei Zhen was respectful and didn't glance at his left arm for longer than 3 seconds.

He walked forward and greeted the elderly man. "Hello, I'm the captain of this ship, Caprice."

The elderly man chuckled softly before shaking his head. "You don't have to introduce yourself, former Chancellor of Yors Castle. Your deed has spread across here, but my subordinates were a bit slow to notice your identity."

And he continued, "People call me Big Charter and you can call me that as well. But before that, may I see the criminal, Peter Heisen first?"

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Of course, you can. Right this way," Lei Zhen said calmly and began leading the way.

After walking through the basement level, Lei Zhen noticed the elderly man who referred to himself as Big Charter to be glancing around the structure of the ship.

To others, it might be something that he was doing out of curiosity, but Lei Zhen knew he was inspecting the pathway.

This was so that if there was actually any mishap, Charter himself would know where to go. A common tactic used by anyone in the military is to always note down the location they walked through in their mind.

Time slowly passed by, and Lei Zhen soon brought Charter to the prison cell that was holding Peter Heisen.

Given Peter Heisen's track record, he had personally ordered him to be alone in the cell, preventing him from communicating with the others to try another escape heist. Though the chance of that was quite unlikely considering the beating Peter Heisen had gone through.

"This is Peter Heisen," Lei Zhen paused his footstep and explained.

"You can double-check his identity to see if there's any mistake-"

Before Lei Zhen could continue his words, Charter had raised his hand up to stop him. "No need, just the aura alone is enough for me to discern that it's the real Peter Heisen."

When Charter said that, Peter Heisen who had his eyes closed, seemingly asleep, flinched a bit as he opened his eyes.

The moment Peter Heisen's eyes met Charter, his expression changed drastically.

"W-Why are you here?" Peter Heisen asked in horror. "Shouldn't you be deployed near the Western Border to defend against the possible invaders? You shouldn't be here."

Charter chuckled softly when he saw the horrified look on Peter Heisen's.

"If it wasn't for someone secretly stealing weapons from Athea to trade them to the enemies, then I wouldn't have been requested to come back. I just arrived here 2 days ago and was getting ready to capture you. Who would have thought someone was even faster and captured you already?" Charter explained.

Peter Heisen held a grave expression when he heard that.

"I-Impossible… why would Athea send you to capture me?" He muttered in disbelief.

"Because your wanted level has risen from 3 stars to 4 stars. You were just 1 star away from becoming even more infamous. Betraying the country to sell weapons to neighboring enemies could be considered the last straw of your heist. You are truly one of a kind, Peter!" Charter said menacingly.

As the two of them continued to converse, Lei Zhen was standing by the sideline, completely confused by their conversation.

Why would Charter waste that much time talking to a wanted criminal?

It wasn't like Charter didn't know the history of Peter Heisen compared to him.
