Although he does not know what kind of person Doreah is, at the very least, Doreah was definitely someone Smither Gary revered or respected at a high level.

Otherwise, Smither Gary wouldn't have turned into a timid dog, unable to utter a loud voice toward Doreah.

"Candice, you might be right in this. Smither Gary is so eccentric that we wouldn't know what else he might do to us." Lei Zhen patted Candice on the shoulder and said.

Smither Gary twitched his mouth instantly since he could figure out what Lei Zhen was attempting to do.

Since Lei Zhen had seen him prostrate in front of the possessed Candice and ordered him to respect her, Lei Zhen was now using her against him.

'What a devious brat? Just one slip-up and he would use that leverage right away.' Smither Gary cursed silently.

As much as he wanted to just smack Lei Zhen to Narnia, he could only resist his urge and tried his best to please Lei Zhen.

"It was my mistake previously for attacking you. How about this? I have crafted multiple pieces of equipment throughout the years, so you can choose one to your liking." Smither Gary suppressed his pain and smiled the best he could.

"Only one? What about my emotional aspect? The emotional damage was too much and even Candice and my other companions were nearly harmed in the process." Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow and questioned his sincerity.

"Three pieces of equipment."

"Ugh, my neck is still aching suddenly, Candice. Do you think it would have more of an aftermath problem?" Lei Zhen feigned to be weak and asked Candice in a horrified tone.

Steams seemed to be bursting through Smither Gary's head as he clenched his fist tightly.

Meanwhile, Tang Qiaolian and the rest were sneakily giggling at how ruthless Lei Zhen was. It was no different than committing daylight robbery and the owner couldn't do anything but smile brightly as he got robbed.

"Enough already, Mister Lei Zhen. Don't push my limit." Smither Gary made a very ugly smile as he warned him not to go overboard. There was a limit to how much he could attempt to extort him.

Lei Zhen nodded his head as well.

"You're right, four pieces of equipment and unlimited repair is enough." He said calmly, nearly causing Smither Gary to vomit blood.

Smither Gary wanted to tell him to fuck off until Candice intervened and said it was reasonable.

"Master's demand is reasonable considering the emotional damage he received and how hard it was to arrive here. Smither Gary's compensation should be this much at the very least." She said, supporting Lei Zhen fully.

Although she didn't know what happened, she was clever enough to pick up that Smither Gary seemed to be wary of her now and cared about her thoughts.

Hence, she would be ashamed of herself if she didn't utilize this opportunity to extort him- something that Lei Zhen had taught her in the past.

"Fine, we'll forget about the past incident with this deal." Smither Gary roared in fury, complying with their ridiculous extortion.

Instantly, Lei Zhen clasped his hands and smiled brightly.

"What past incident? I don't recall there ever being a past incident." He said innocently.

"Do you know anything, Candice? And what about you?" He then turned to Candice and the others, seemingly asking for clarification.

And without hesitation, all the women raised an eyebrow and acted confused, cooperating with his scheme flawlessly.

It was only now that Smither Gary realized just how terrible these groups of people were. Once they got a hand on your weakness, they would ruthlessly utilize it to their maximum benefit.

'How could Mistress Doreah choose this kind of person as the successor?' He cried inwardly.

Sometime later, Lei Zhen decided to push the free equipment aside since he had not forgotten their real motive for arriving here.

"Anyway, Smither Gary, I wanted to ask if you had heard about an artifact echoing some monster scream after usage." Lei Zhen asked, going back to square one.

When he asked this question for the first time, he was nearly killed because of his spying action, but things have changed now.

Smither Gary decided to put a blind eye to that matter and answered honestly.

"Of course, I have since that was my specialty in crafting. Though I stopped crafting these artifacts for others a long time ago when I decided to stay here." He said arrogantly, crossing his arms.

Lei Zhen didn't mind his arrogant tone since he was definitely capable of backing up the arrogance. Those with abilities would always have some sort of arrogance in them. Except some without any abilities love to act arrogant as well, only to receive a ton of backlash.

"Lingxin, please explain your artifact again for Smither Gary." Lei Zhen turned toward Liu Lingxin and had her explain instead.

After all, she was the one that used the artifact personally unlike him. Thus, it was only appropriate to have her explain.

A few minutes later, Liu Lingxin explained everything to the best of her ability for Smither Gary to understand.

"That was the artifact I used that saved my life, Smither Gary." Liu Lingxin concluded her explanation quite swiftly given that she had said the same thing over and over again.

"So do you have any idea of that artifact?" Lei Zhen then asked.

Meanwhile, Smither Gary remained silent for a few moments, seemingly trying to recall such an artifact.

After some time, Smither Gary clasped his hand and walked to the back aisle.

Liu Lingxin was confused, but Lei Zhen merely shook his head. It was clear to him that Smither Gary must have an idea and was searching for it.

And sure enough, Smither Gary came back with an artifact in his hand and Liu Lingxin became alarmed.

"That's the artifact that I've used… but the person who gave it to me said it doesn't exist in the world anymore." Liu Lingxin exclaimed in shock.

"Hmph, what kind of nonsense was that? This artifact is called Bolten, created by me. How could it not exist when I'm still alive?" Smither Gary snorted coldly.
