QT: Grace To Grass Counterattack System

264 My Sister-In-Law Is My Surrogate 23

He Yuan's head slowly turned to the Han Madam in slow motion. What was this? The fact that they all felt entitled to deciding the fate of the twins was ridiculous. He slowly walked up to her and pinned her with a threatening glare. "Yu.Fenfang."

Shocked gasps rang out in the hall and the Han Madam's eyes enlarged tremendously at the fact that Xu Lifen had dared to refer to her by her name but He Yuan didn't care.

The babies were already born and Xu Lifen's marriage with Han Tao was going to end in a divorce anyways. Nothing was lost. It wasn't as if this was an ancient realm where his disrespectful action would cause destructive consequences to the leaser.

No matter how the Han family tried to present themselves with grandeur and emulate the 'ways of their ancestors,' this realm was still a modern one with a high degree of freedom towards women.

In the end, the Han family were just a dying family with old money that not only stuck to redundant traditions but also abused it like one would do cocaine.

He Yuan calmly lowered himself to the Han Madam's eye level and continued through clenched teeth. "I have tolerated you and the rest of your idiot family members for so long but that doesn't mean I would continue to let you walk all over me.

-I had chosen to move into the Han mansion after marriage out of consideration for all of you and your stupid family rules. Not the other way around."

He straightened and glanced at the rest of them. "You are all nothing but extended family members. If I choose not to give any one of you access to my babies then I can.

-So you have absolutely no right questioning the decisions I have made for my own children!"

Now everyone was in even more shock that they froze stiff. They could not, for the life of them, comprehend the fact that the usually spineless Xu Lifen had not only opened her mouth to cuss and berate them and their family rules but also threatened to stop them from seeing the twins.

The Han Madam lifted a shaky hand and pointed at He Yuan. She opened and closed her mouth a few times but she could not get anything out. Instead, she trembled so much that,

PLOP!

She fainted.

"MOTHER! GRANDMOTHER!"

Chen Meili fell to the ground and placed her hands over her mouth in shock whilst Min Yanyu, Han Rong, Han Yi and Han Jiao all rushed to attend to the Han Madam on the floor.

The wet nurse took a step forward and then backward. Having witnessed what she just did, she felt incredibly awkward and didn't know what to do with herself so she quietly slipped out of the room after a quick nod at He Yuan.

"Call the hospital to send a doctor now!" Han Tao instructed sharply but before he could take a step, Gu Longwei directly stepped in, carried the old lady and rushed out of the room.

After they left the room, Han Tao turned to He Yuan angrily. There were a lot of awful things about Xu Lifen that he could easily overlook but blatantly insulting his family was not one of them.

He walked until he stood before his wife's shorter frame. "Are you happy now?" He pointed at the door with one hand and grabbed Xu Lifen's arm tightly with the other. "Is this what you wanted?!"

Chen Meili snapped out of her shock then. She watched as Han Tao's hold on Xu Lifen's arm became tighter as his eyes reddened in anger and her heart twisted in pain. Brother Tao was usually mild tempered so for him to grab Xu Lifen like that....

He must be really hurt at the words that Xu Lifen had spoken.

How could she bare to see him like that? With tears in her eyes, she picked herself up from the ground and, without thinking, she rushed forward to hold Han Tao from behind. "Brother Tao stop!"

Han Tao stubbornly held on but turned his head sideways to face the woman hugging him from behind "Meili let g-" He froze. Why was she crying now? Xu Lifen's behavior had nothing to do with her and yet Meili was still trying to protect her.

He Yuan easily snatched his arm from Han Tao's grasp and rolled his eyes at the two people before him without hiding his disgust. "Clowns."

Han Tao's eyes widened when he heard that and his rage built up once more. He turned to He Yuan. "You're really bold aren't you?! Even when she tries to protect you, you're still ungrateful!"

Chen Meili's hold on Han Tao's waist tightened. "Brother Tao, that's enough!"

Han Tao refused to be appeased this time. "Enough? If she's going to continue with this behavior then we might as well get divorced!"

Chen Meili stilled. Divorce? Despite the situation, she could not supress the intense surging of her heart. The day brother Tao got married, she had forever resigned herself to the fact that they could never be together but a divorce...

On the other hand, He Yuan stared at Han Tao with a bored expression. "A divorce doesn't sound so bad."

Han Tao's eyes widened and Chen Meili trembled in barely hidden excitement. Since she was already here, she could not remain silent so she stepped forward and said halfheartedly, "Sister-in-law, you can't just say whate-"

SNAP!

He Yuan directly cut her off with a snap of his fingers. The excitement that was wafting off of her was so thick that he could smell it. He simply motioned at the door with a tilt of his head. "Get out."

Chen Meili froze and looked up at Han Tao. "Brother Tao..."

Han Tao's eyes were still on his wife as he swallowed with difficulty. Xu Lifen might have a chaotic character but even she would never casually say such words. He looked to Chen Meili. "Meili, you just got back from the hospital, you should rest."

Chen Meili got the message and slowly walked to the door whilst looking back repeatedly. Brother Tao's expression did not seem right. Did he not want to divorce Xu Lifen? But their relationship was already so bad. Uneasiness and uncertainty filled her heart at that moment.

As soon as the door was closed, Han Tao perused his wife from head to toe. Why would Xu Lifen suddenly think a divorce was a good idea? Honestly, he wasn't threatened by the thought of losing her, no. He was more shocked by the fact that she was open to the idea of divorce.

After getting married and quitting her job at the flower shop, Xu Lifen did not have any means of livelihood so what gave her that courage? Was there someone else? His mind trailed to that one night again. Was she really cheating on him?

Han Tao locked eyes with He Yuan. His tone was much lower and much more dreadful as he asked, "Xu Lifen, what do you mean by a divorce is not a bad idea?"

He Yuan did not move his eyes as he answered calmly. "It means that I don't want to remain married to a man who would place his sister-in-law over his wife and children."

Han Tao froze slightly. This was Xu Lifen's reason? How was that reasonable? He thought back to all his dealings with Chen Meili and frowned. "How have I placed Meili over you and the babies? She was helpless after childbirth and I was only being considerate to her out of gratitude!"

"Out of gratitude..." He Yuan chuckled and raised a brow at the man before him. "Han Tao, since the babies were born, have you laid eyes on them?"

"Of cou-" Han Tao's eyes widened and he looked over to the cot. He was only just realizing that he had no idea what the twins even looked like.

He Yuan smiled coldly, stretched a bit and grabbed Han Tao by the nape and brought the man's head down until they were both at eye level. "So your sister-in-law, who had the doctors and nurses to watch over her, was helpless and deserved consideration but your own newborns, who were even more helpless, should go to hell?"

Hearing Xu Lifen's words, Han Tao became immobile. His neck felt strained from being held down so tightly but he didn't move. He was frozen at the intimidating look in his wife's eyes. He'd seen Xu Lifen angry lots of times but this... this wasn't even anger. This was something else.

The thing that bothered him the most was the indifference at the very core of her eyes. Despite her cold and bitter words, her eyes did not hold any true anger. His heart lurched. He dealt with criminals regularly so no one knew better than him what this indifference meant.

Xu Lifen just did not care anymore.

At that moment, 888 suddenly materialized behind Han Tao. His eyes trailed to his host's hands at the back of Han Tao's neck. Their posture seemed a little ambiguous. His brows furrowed. "Let go."

He Yuan eyed his system briefly in confusion before casually slipping a needle into Han Tao's neck. As soon as the man fell to the ground, he looked back to his system. "What's wrong?"

888 stuck his ring and middle fingers together and then pushed up his glasses a bit with a shrug.

He Yuan scrutinized his system's face for a while before sighing in exasperation and looking down to the passed out Han Tao. Next, he lowered himself to the ground and quickly got to work taking Han Tao's clothes off.

Once the man was in nothing but his boxer briefs, He Yuan took out a different needle from his storage space. After eyeing the tip of the needle and sniffing it slightly to make sure he had the right drug, he slowly inserted it into Han Tao's lower abdomen -right at the acupoint below his navel and above his pelvis.

30 seconds later, the acupoint turned a dark greenish colour before turning back to normal. He Yuan nodded in satisfaction and retrieved his needle. Lately, he'd been a little skeptical about the success of the plan he'd come up with but the excitement and desperation he'd seen in Chen Meili's eyes was just enough for him to work with.

In the original timeline, Xu Lifen had run away with the kids about a month after they were born. As the event brought Han Tao and Chen Meili even closer, they had had sex.

It took another month for the accident to happen and for the babies to be taken from the leaser but that wasn't He Yuan's focus for now.

Since Han Tao and Chen Meili were such suckers for each other, why not let things develop between the both of them?
