Chapter 836: 15.53

"Then come here, we will start cultivating," Baishe ordered. "And I will tell you a thing or two about Master Bai since we're… old friends."

Han Shun got interested immediately once the white snake said that she had a thing or two about Bai Gege.

Han Shun slowly approached the white snake and asked, "Okay, what do you know about Bai Gege? I want to know it all."

"You willful kid, do you think there is free lunch in this world? I will tell you some of his secrets as long as you can progress with your cultivation. You can also ask me many things," Baishe said.

"For now, show me what kind of attack you can do. I believe you can already walk on water, right?"

Han Shun nodded.

"Well, go walk to the middle of the lake, and sit there," Baishe ordered.

Han Shun was reluctant. He felt that nobody should be able to order him around except for Bai Gege.

But if he refused to comply, he might never get to hear any of Bai Gege's secret, nor meet him again, because he doubted he could actually leave this huge cave until he finished his cultivation.

Thus, Han Shun obeyed and walked to the middle of the lake. He sat cross-legged there, floating on the surface and waiting for the next instruction.

Baishe transformed herself into her human form, a young lady around her early twenties. She had black hair and pale skin, while her body was covered with a white robe and transparent shawl that floated around her.

She smiled at Han Shun and asked, "Why do you look surprised? You live with Master Bai. He is such an old immortal in this world. You wouldn't believe how long had it been for him to stay in his mid-twenty."

Baishe giggled upon the reaction, "Or maybe, you think that Baishe Jiejie is such a beautiful woman?" Baishe asked, teasing this green teenager.

Han Shun quickly fixed his face and looked away, "Don't flatter yourself. I don't like you at all. I'm just surprised that you look similar to Bai Gege."

'Well, that is obvious. Because I am part of him as well,' Baishe said in her heart. But she kept in for herself, knowing that Han Shun wasn't ready to know the real truth.

Han Shun was just a willful teenager that only had one goal in mind: Staying with Master Bai Yunyu, which in this world was called Bai Shijue.

Baishe sat cross-legged about 100 meters from Han Shun. They were both sitting on the water surface.

"Alright, now let me test your proficiency with water element first," Baishe said. She stared at Han Shun, who didn't show any nervousness at all, and then summoned a water tentacle on her sides.

"Try to disperse the tentacle before it hit you," Baishe said. She commanded the water tentacles to attack Han Shun, who stared at them unblinking.

Han Shun opened his palm and put his palm in front of him to block the attack. Logically, that shouldn't be enough for him to stop two strong water tentacles that could make a real cut in his body, but when the tentacle tip touched his palm, it dispersed into droplets.

Han Shun completed the test effortlessly.

Baishe was a tad surprised by Han Shun's proficiency. Granted, he was only testing him with the weakest attack possible, but Han Shun could actually disperse her attack showed a lot of his potential.

"Alright, now the second one," Baishe opened her palm and summoned a small steel ball on her hand. "I will drop this into the bottom of the lake, and you will use the water to retrieve it back without diving inside, understand?"

Han Shun nodded, and Baishe dropped the steel ball to the lake under her. She intentionally pushed it deeper and hid the steel ball under a rock. If Han Shun could find and retrieve the steel ball, then Baishe was convinced that she could just skip all the basics and train Han Shun to be the master of a water elemental, just like her.

"Retrieve the steel ball, now," Baishe instructed.

Han Shun closed his eyes to feel the water under him. The lake was freezing cold, but it had no sign of life in it, which meant there was no fishes or even amoeba, only thousands of rock in the bottom of the lake.

Han Shun quickly sensed a different object inside the lake. It was harder than the rock. He quickly found out that it was the steel ball, hidden underneath a big rock in the bottom.

Han Shun patted the water surface, and he created a water spout that launched the steel ball from the bottom of the lake.

Han Shun opened his palm to take something from the ceiling, and not long after, the steel ball launched into the air and landed on Han Shun's palm.

He rolled the steel ball on the water surface and gave it to Baishe.

"There you go," Han Shun said.

Baishe was utterly impressed by how adept Han Shun was. She had never had any disciple before. The last time she remembered was Larva, who acted like it was the disciple but got malfunctioned once Larva dipped underwater with Baishe.

Baishe nodded approvingly, "You're a talented young man, indeed. I will train you to be master of—"

"When will I be able to meet my Gege again?" Han Shun suddenly interrupted. He had no interest in being a master of a water element or whatever. He just wanted to finish this soon and meet with Bai Gege.

"Master Bai said that he will visit you often, right? So you don't need to worry."

"No, that's not what I meant," Han Shun denied. "I'm just asking you, what is the requirement until I can live with my Bai Gege again?"

"Ah, that one is simple, kid," Baishe smiled mysteriously. "You will be stuck here with me indefinitely until you obtain your golden core."
