Sam entered the pocket dimension along with his friends.

As the previous one, he was thrown into a random spot. The expanse looked like the plains of savanna. All he could see were the grassy plains in his sight. There were some mountains far far away. "Its like I am back in Africa again."

He muttered to himself and spread out his senses.

In just two seconds he got a hit. The wind elemental energy concentration was high in that direction. He walked there while observing in surroundings. Just like in the previous pocket dimension, he needs to find out what the pattern is here.

Once he finds out the pattern, he can find a way to break it, find the loopholes and finally figure out how he can come across the Legacy inheritance.

His initial speculation is to just find the zones with higher energy concentration. Since that was the case in the previous pocket dimension.

When he reached the zone, he was impressed by what he saw.

It was a small patch in the middle of the grassland. In that small area, there was no tall grass and it looked like it was artificially created.

It is almost as big as a basketball court. Not much bigger than that.

There was a large inscribed formation that covered the whole patch. The runes were very complex and the inscriptions were layered creating multiple formation that were woven into formation arrays. In this formation there are five circles at random spots.

These circles were occupied some totem poles.

The totem poles of course were also covered with some more inscriptions and formations.

On the other end of the patch, there was a flag. With the symbol of wings embroidered with golden threads on the white cloth.

Wind elemental energy oozed out of the whole patch. This is the first zone Sam encountered. And there is a number hovering on top and it sowed a big round zero. Indicating that no one has cleared this zone at the moment.

Sam stepped forward. With just one foot into the zone, a bunch of information was imprinted in his mind.

This zone is actually quite simple. He has to break the layered formation while defending against the attacks thrown by the totem poles.

He cannot attack the totem poles and he cannot change the formation itself. Instead, he needs to create a barrier around himself by circulating his energy. The barrier however is not enough if it just blocks whatever the formations throw at it.

Instead, it should circulate with a certain energy flow.

Only when the energy flow of the shield matches with the energy flow of the inscription at that step, can he move forward.

So, the energy flow of the attacking pattern of the inscription will keep on changing with every step and with every step he needs to change the circulation of his own energy barrier. So, its basically a game of understanding the energy pattern of the formation and circulating it.

The twist is that the elements play a factor in this whole thing. If the elemental energy of the candidate doesn't match with the wind element properly, they will have a hard time. Like the fire element is usually volatile in the presence of the wind elemental energy. So, when they use the fire elemental energy, they need to use a lot more control and they need to focus a lot more.

This is basically an energy sensing, reading and controlling exercise. As long as one is good at that, he would be able to pass this test. The sensing is easy. Anyone that reached the status of the Academy realm's student and of course worth their salt, they should be able to do it.

The problem arises from reading the energy pattern after sensing it.

How fast was the energy moving, which direction, etc.

Then they need to estimate what kind of impact the energy has when moving in that identified pattern and they the candidate needs to create the barrier that satisfies the exact condition.

As Sam looked at the zone, he activated energy vision and looked at the inscriptions.

With only one of his feet on the zone, he got the information but the inscriptions were not activated. He stepped forward and stood at the edge. The inscriptions started glowing in his energy vision and the next moment….

*BOOM*

An explosive sound came out of nowhere. A ring of condensed wind conjured in front of him. Just one foot away and hit him in the chest. At the same time, the totem pole closest to him was activated and started shooting wind bullets at him.

Sam hurriedly blocked the attacks with an energy barrier, but for some reason the barrier collapsed the moment it was made. He took the attack squarely to his chest.

"FUCK"

Sam groaned slightly. He almost fell out of the zone. His insane physique came in handy.

He frowned and looked at the inscriptions once again with the energy vision, however this time he activated wind elemental fusion.

*BOOM*

The wind bullets and that ring of wind which was surprisingly difficult to handle hit him in the chest again.

He gritted his teeth and made his body absorb it. The attack transferred through his body and left from his back.

*BOOM*

The attacks continued as he studied the formation. He let the body absorb the blows.

After two minutes, a smile appeared on his face. Then only he realized, maybe this pocket dimension might be a bit too unfair for his counterparts.

Three minutes later, Sam was standing on the other side of the patch. He was holding the flag of that zone. The number that was floating on top of that zone changed to 1 and a golden colored symbol that looked like a totem pole appeared on his right forearm.

His first zone clear time, a little more than five minutes.

And he also got some understanding of how a zone works. He activated his energy vision once again, injected a lot of wind elemental energy into his eyes to modify it just like how he did with the fire energy in the previous dimension.

He activated wind fusion once again and let his wings out. He shot into the air like a streak of light.

He first increased the altitude to the maximum range the dimension allowed and projected his vision all over the place.

He managed to find a few hotspots of energy which are more than likely the zones. He zoomed towards the nearest one.

Sam didn't wait as long as he did in the first one. With the previous experience he moved a lot faster.

And he also noticed another thing. This pocket dimension can be considered much smaller when compared to the previous pocket dimension.

While things on Sam's side are moving very fast, the things on other player's side is not going slow either. Everyone has their own methods to handle these zones and they have their own plans in finding the legacy inheritance clues.

Meanwhile.

Outside of the pocket dimension, the cases were still going on full swing. By then Ivar has sent over a dozen people to take on the 12 labors and for a few people they already started. Of course, to ensure the fairness the court made sure that the tasks given to them were hard enough.

And there were other continigencies to make sure that they won't try anything funny to help themselves.

For the first few people that did try, Ivar brought out some audio recordings to the court revealing their plans.

This made the court angry and they increased the punishment. Often times by many fold.

While these are happening. Night Ghost who was asked by Sam to stay back once again entered one of the dead pocket dimensions.

This dimension has been part of their plans for a while and Sam figured that this would be a great time to use it.

This dimension has the threshold for entry. Only Freshman can enter. But the trials are not refreshing inside and it is pretty much an empty land. However, while Sam was dealing with the freshman tournament, Night Ghost used some of the things Sam left behind and planted them inside this dimension according to Sam's plans.

Since only a few people who wants to train or spar in piece come here, he didn't attract too much attention at that time and neither did he attract any attention now.

So, when Sam was acting in the second pocket dimension, he acted according to Sam's instructions and went to activate their plan.

Night Ghost looked at the vast expanse of land around him.

It just looked like a large patch of woods. The trees were sparse and rocks were many. To top it all off, there was just one big mountain in the middle.

Night Ghost sat on top of one of the rocks a bit away from the mountain before he started meditating.
