Chapter 69 – My Wife Is a Celestial Woman

“Okay, okay, don’t you think that I, your mother, know how to take care of children? Just go ahead,” Mother Ji said with annoyance.

Ji Jianyun went to find Su Danhong, “Honey, I’ve already talked to mother. She will help us sort out the beans and look after Xiao Renren. Why don’t I take you out for a walk on the mountain?” You haven’t seen it yet, but the sheeps and chicks are growing well.”

Su Danhong glanced at him weakly and said, “Jianyun, I haven’t embroidered in a while.”

“I won’t stop you if you want to embroider, but you can’t sit for a long time. It’s not good for your eyes or your waist,” Ji Jianyun said to her.

His reasons were too reasonable for her to refute.

Thus, she was going to go out with him. She said to Mother Ji, “Mother, look after things for a while. We’re going for a walk on the mountain and we’ll be back.”

“Yeah, go ahead. Don’t worry about Renren. Mother will take care of him,” Mother Ji said with a grin.

Su Danhong went to see his son again. She saw that he was sleeping soundly, and told Da Hei to take good care of the house. Then, she went up the mountain with Ji Jianyun.

Su Danhong had not come up the mountain in a while. For this time trip, she brought the watering can with her. Even if everyone silently understood the water situation, she still intentionally brought some water with her.

She had not come up for almost three or four months, including when she was in confinement. Before, it was inconvenient for her to go when her belly was big, and then she had to go through confinement and look after her child.

When she went up the mountain, she saw that the fruit trees on the mountain had really changed.

The trees were surrounded by the high brick wall, and couldn’t be seen from the outside. However, the occasional sheep baa and dog bark could be heard.

She reached the big gate. Everything on the mountain seemed to be going well. In the future, when they would need to transport the fruit, it would be better to drive here.

They closed the main iron gate. It was unlocked since the sun was out. Also, Father Ji was there, and Xu Aidang and Ji Hongjun had come up. They were busy tying straws to the top of the fruit trees to prevent freezing.

When they saw the couple coming up, Father Ji pointed to the chicken shed and sheep shed and said, “Go and have a look.”

Ji Jianyun brought Su Danhong over. The men were busy, and there was nothing to discuss at the moment.

Su Danhong remembered something and said, “By the way, Jianyun, remember to ask Hongjun and Aidang to help father raise the chickens and sheep in winter. They can take turns doing it. We will pay them for their work.”

Ji Jianyun was surprised, but then smiled and said, “I was just about to bring it up to you.” It had started snowing, but it wasn’t a lot of snow. There would be more near the end of the year. It would snow for a maximum of two months, and there were times when it only snowed for one month.

That’s why the mountain was so dry and bare.

They should employ Ji Hongjun and Xu Aidang for more work because of the short rest time during the snowing months, and the fact that they had already hired them as long-term workers. During the winter, they would be responsible for carrying water from their home to the mountain and helping Father Ji cook the chickens’ food. There would be one more person helping Father Ji take care of things, and the job was very easy. They could take turns: one could go up in the morning; the other could go up in the afternoon.

Like this, they would still get paid for their work. This was generous, and solidified the idea of having long-term workers.

Seeing that Jianyun had thought it through, Su Danhong did not concern herself with it.

She went over to see the chicks. More than ten days had passed. The chicks ate well every day and were growing well. The three hens were very active, and a large flock of chicks would follow behind them clucking.

Su Danhong gave some water to them. As if they knew that the water was good, the three hens went over to drink it. The chicks also followed.

“During the winter, we really need them to work,” Su Danhong stated.

There were more than 200 chicks that needed to be taken care of and that was a lot of work. She and Ji Jianyun were planning to raise that many.

Having this many chicks was easy now, but when they grew up, they would eat all day.

Fortunately, Ji Jianyun had already discussed things with the rice grinder. In a few days, a batch of rice bran would be sent over, and then they could use it to feed the chickens instead. Other things, such as corn and old rice, had already been prepared. There would be no problems once everything was cooked with the spiritual spring water.

Even though Su Danhong was confident that the chicks that ate the food boiled in the spiritual spring water would not get sick, she still had a prescription prepared for Ji Jianyun to buy medicine when he went shopping for New Years. That way, it would stop the villagers from gossiping.

They would cut up the medicine and put it in the chickens’ food to eat.

Thus, if the chicken didn’t get sick and grew well, it was all thanks to the medicine.

The villagers want to gossip about her? Okay, no problem, she would give it to them. It was not a magical item, just a small prescription to prevent influenza. It was a commonly used medicine.

“Their work is still quite meticulous,” Ji Jianyun said with satisfaction.

The chicken shed needed to be cleaned twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. It was sprayed with disinfectant after the cleaning. This was necessary, otherwise the smell would be too strong, and the chickens would get sick easily.

When the couple were looking through things, there was still a smell. This was inevitable with chickens, but it was still considered very clean.

After the couple looked at the chickens, they went to see the sheeps in their shed. Ji Jianyun watched his wife give the sheeps some water. It was obviously a small watering can, so how could there be so much water?

Moreover, every time his wife gave them water, the animals would come to drink it very obediently.

Su Danhong rolled her eyes. She saw Jianyun staring at her watering can, she immediately laughed. She didn’t mind and gave more spiritual spring water to the sheeps. Then, she went to see Xiao Bai and the other dogs.

The dogs had not seen their owner for a long time, so they were very happy to see her. The dogs were adults now, and they ate well and grew to be very strong.

Su Danhong gave them some spiritual spring water. She ordered them to take good care of the orchard, and to follow Ji Jianyun when he was patrolling around the big orchard.

Ji Jianyun didn’t say anything. He took his wife and they started to walk around. He took her over to some weak fruit trees and asked, “Honey, is there any water left in the watering can?”

Ji Jianyun was being a little mischievous and had said that on purpose.

Su Danhong raised an eyebrow and replied, “Yes, it’s a full can. If you don’t believe it, then you can water the fruit trees.”

She gave him the kettle.

Ji Jianyun took it and immediately swallowed his saliva. It really was a full can. What did his wife give to the chickens, sheeps, Xiao Bai, and the dogs?

“Don’t ask me, ask the Great Fox Immortal. These are the immortal ways of the Great Fox Immortal,” Su Danhong said with a sweet smile.

Ji Jianyun stared at her with some discontent.

She was still in the mood to make a joke when she scared him like this.

“Jianyun, do you really want to know?” Su Danhong suddenly asked.

Ji Jianyun was surprised when he saw that his wife really wanted to tell him. He hesitated for a moment and then shook his head. He went over, held her hand, and said, “Honey, you don’t have to worry about me. I know you are my wife and my son’s mother. I don’t care about anything else. You don’t need to doubt me, or think that I will be suspicious and think too much about it. Honey, I think of you as a celestial woman who came down from the heavens to me.”
