A Kiss (3)

Ruan Qingmu was amused and stealthily picked at his palm with his finger, asking quietly, “What’s wrong? Are you afraid too?”

Qin Yuan inhaled gently. “No.”

He didn’t feel blood sick, but when he saw these limbs and bones, he suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable as if some long-hidden memories had suddenly triggered him. His stomach turned upside down, almost causing him to throw up.

Fu Songhua suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs, “We won’t leave anyone behind. Give up! If you do too much injustice, you will bring your destruction. Heaven is fair and evil will be punished. It won’t be allowed by the law!”

Everyone: “(Д )…”

It was quite a scene.

“You won’t leave even one person? Then, you will all die!” The voice laughed strangely, sharply, and harshly. As he laughed, a large stream of gray foam suddenly gushed out all around, in front, and behind the passage, expanding rapidly and coming in a massive.

“Fuck! So cruel? What is this?!”

The foam filled the space around them in a blink of an eye, cramming the gaps on the sides of all the people and emitting a fishy smell.

Although the rubber raincoats blocked it, it was super disgusting. Niu Xiaoqing crumbled and shouted, “Ahh! Everyone, don’t touch it. It’s sticky and stinking!”

Ruan Qingmu held his breath and couldn’t help but curse. “What the hell is this? If this continues to expand, will we have no air?”

Beside him, Qin Yuan’s calm and collected voice rang out. “Elephant toothpaste experiment. Catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide.”

Fu Songhua had a sudden realization. “Ohh, I know. I’ve done lots of times with chemistry competition test problems.”

Fang Li asked in a whisper, “What is that?”

Fu Song Hua proudly showed off, “Concentrated hydrogen peroxide and foaming agent mixed with potassium iodide and a catalyst can produce an oxygen-filled foam in a short time. With colored pigments. It looks great for experiments, unlike here. But what’s added in here? It stinks.”

“Hahaha. You will never find the key to go out. I hid it so secretively. You guys can only wait here, becoming dried bones!”

The laughter died down and everyone looked at each other in dismay. Well, the next step was to find the key again.

Qin Yuan looked at the glass containers and frowned. “We can only look for it inside these things. It’s important that we fish it out.”

Ruan Qingmu observed and casually said, “Let’s do it separately then. The girls don’t need to do it. Each boy is responsible to look for it. Start looking from top to bottom.”

The girls desperately retreated. Even the bold Niu Xiaoqing didn’t dare to try her luck: Those glass jars soaked in formalin were disgusting to look at, so who would want to go down and touch them?

The group of boys was at their wits’ end. With so many jars, it was hard to gauge how long it’d take for one person to go through them. Huang Ya crossed his heart. “Let’s go. Those who don’t go up are ladies!”

Fu Songhua jumped to the back of the crowd. “I-I’m also a girl. I danced a female group dance…”

Fang Li burst out in laughter and recalled the bits of the New Year’s Eve party last year. His heart was both sweet and sour at the same time. He turned his head to Fu Songhua and said softly, “You can stand there and don’t move. I’ll help you look for it.”

Qin Yuan looked at the eager boys ready to start and suddenly said, “Look at the ones with bones. Ignore the ones with internal organs. He said, ‘let us become dried bones.’ It should be a hint.”

Everyone had a sudden realization. “Right! Right!”

Bones were better. It was a fucking nightmare to touch the soft innards.

Everyone scattered and took turns to reach in and touch the bones. At one point, Huang Ya screamed, “Ahhh. The bones are biting my hand.”

At another, Fang Li whispered to reassure someone, “It’s okay. I’m really not afraid. I was always alone at home when I was little.” The horror slowly faded, and the sound of laughter was heard.

Ruan Qingmu and Qin Yuan stood side by side, looking at a jar simultaneously. They reached down together and slowly searched for it.

Ruan Qingmu gently took one of Qin Yuan’s hands. After groping for a while, he stopped his hand below and finally felt something in the several thigh bone models.

“Haha. Found it!” He proudly stirred the bones and raised the key out of the blood. “We can go now.”

The door at the end of the passage opened and the background voice continued to act dedicatedly. “You bunch of bastards, you’re actually leaving my laboratory! I will catch you guys again sooner or later~~~.”

There was an exit at the end of the hall with a “Changing Room” sign and a sink next to it.

The group sighed in relief and fought to take off their rubber raincoats and wash their hands.

Their hands were covered in fake blood all the way down, which was pretty disgustingly sticky.

After finally getting cleaned up, everyone rushed out the door again. The sun shone brightly outside and the group of teenagers who had been inside in the darkness for half a day cheered, “Survival after death! Rebirth after a calamity!”

“Human world, we’re back again. Love you!”

Ruan Qingmu and Qin Yuan were on their way out at the end. When they turned their heads and saw the person beside them, they were stunned.

Qin Yuan’s face was still inside the door and it was a bit paler than the others, with a strange daze in his eyes too.

“What’s wrong with you?” he asked softly.

Qin Yuan shook his head slowly. “Truly nothing. I must’ve eaten something greasy in the morning. I felt slight nausea when I saw these things.”

He raised his hand to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead and rubbed his cheek vigorously again. However, he had been so distracted that he had forgotten to wash his hands. The fake blood on his hands was smeared all over his face with this rub.

The one-piece raincoat had just been taken off and his hair had been messed up a bit as a result. It looked like his hair was scattered, his handsome face was covered in blood, and his eyes were in a trance.

He looked just like the way he looked in his previous life when he was drawing his last breath.

Ruan Qingmu looked at him in a daze and his heart suddenly felt like it had been stabbed unexpectedly. Ruthlessly precise and accurate.

It was so painful that he couldn’t breathe, even though he knew it was all fake.

He suddenly dashed around and stepped through the door into the darkness again, pulling Qin Yuan into the shadows.

Then, taking up Qin Yuan’s blood-stained face, he kissed it deeply and firmly.

Gentle and fierce.

No longer able to bear any loss.
