Young Husband & Wife (3)

Ruan Qingmu’s pair of peach blossom eyes formed a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. “Fellow boyfriend, you’re a bit boring.”

Qin Yuan said softly, “I suddenly thought of the picture you gave me. You called me ‘young hero’ and yourself as ‘young master’–I think, ‘young husband and wife’ is quite good.”

His lips were very close to Ruan Qingmu’s ear, and his warm, soft breath puffed behind his ear. “Do you like it?”

Ruan Qingmu’s body was slightly weak. He held the windowsill with his hand calmly and clenched his teeth. “I like it as long as I’m the husband and you’re the wife.”

Qin Yuan did not speak for a long time before whispering, “Something like this… will be clear in the future. You don’t need to be anxious.”

Ruan Qingmu shouted in an angry whisper, “Who’s fucking anxious?!”

“You’re very anxious now. The veins in your head almost exploded.”

Ruan Qingmu stared at him fiercely before suddenly sighing.

Under the moonlight, his boyfriend looked handsome with a smile on his lips and stars in his eyes. Although he had already lived two lifetimes, he could never get enough of him.

Forget it. What was the point of fighting with him? He looked strong and cold, but in reality, he was just a pitiful boy who had died for him in his previous life and had no one but him in this one.

He cupped Qin Yuan’s face and kissed him carelessly on the tip of his nose, cheek, and forehead several times, without any order. “Okay. Okay. I’m anxious. I’m in a hurry to seal my man.”

Qin Yuan stood still, allowing him to cover down his messy kisses before he caught his chin and kissed back with a perfect and strong posture. “Ruan Ruan’s study progress is quite fast, but why can’t he learn this.”

After practicing for so long, he still hadn’t improved, kissing like a bad student cheating for the first time in the examination hall, with a red face and guilty conscience like a sheep in wolf’s clothing.

“Pah! Who’s not improving? Wo…” His fellow boyfriend let out a soft whimper beside him, like a shameful pleading whimper from a delinquent student caught by a teacher.

He didn’t know how long it took before Qin Yuan reluctantly let go of him. “It’s almost lights out. We have to return.”

The two people had just separated when a rustling sound suddenly came from under the canopy of trees outside the window.

The two looked down to see a dark figure nimbly climbing higher and higher along the branches that stretched across the tree.

“They say the confession is also a wish. The higher you hang it, the more your wish will come true.” Qin Yuan explained softly in Ruan Qingmu’s ear.

Ruan Qingmu glanced at him. “So, you run upstairs to hang it? It’s true that nobody can hang it higher than you.”

Below, he wondered which senior student in love was the big retard, climbing so high in the night, not afraid of falling!

Most of the people who came to hang their confessions overnight would stick them directly to the trunk of the tree, and some would take a heavy object to make a pendant and throw it high up in the branches below, just to latch onto the branch but few would actually climb the tree.

The figure had climbed high enough, but when he looked up, he unexpectedly saw the ones hanging overhead by Qin Yuan and seemed to be stunned as he continued climbing up again.

Only when he had climbed nearby did he reach down and pick one off, bringing it up to his eyes to look at it.

“Fuck… What is this young husband and wife? How dare this trashy thing be higher than mine?”

He hardened his heart and stepped on the branches, finding firm ground on a thick trunk and climbed up another small half meter before finally stepping on the confessions Qin Yuan had hung up.

Behind the curtains of the activity room, Qin Yuan and Ruan Qingmu turned off the lights. They watched silently and speechlessly as a certain big fool raised his hands and hung the plastic-laminated postcard in his hands higher up before clapping his hands and looking away.

Inside the room, Ruan Qingmu couldn’t keep his body from moving and wanted to yell, but Qin Yuan covered his mouth. “Don’t make a sound.”

Ruan Qingmu whined, “He said we’re trash!”

Qin Yuan was much more thoughtful. “It’s not safe. Just in case he is scared and falls.”

Ruan Qingmu didn’t move.

The branches gently swayed and the flowers were fragrant. The big fool guy outside admired his masterpiece for a while before finally climbing down the tree trunk again.

The two of them hid behind the curtains and watched the figure rush off toward the dormitory before they pushed open the window and looked at the confession letter hanging and swaying high in the tree’s canopy with red silk thread.

Only after a long time did Ruan Qingmu mutter, “This big fool guy is dead! He’s not allowed to push ours down.”

Qin Yuan laughed softly. He casually took off one of the nameplates he made, tied it together with that postcard, and re-hung it.

“Side by side is better, together.”

The night was peaceful, the moonlight was like water, and the pink field of acacia flowers clustered amidst the tender and quiet hearts of the two ignorant and romantic young couples.

“Young husband and wife for a lifetime.”

“Fu Songhua will like Fang Li forever.”
