The Distinguished Cute Master

Chapter 45 - Bottomless Pit of Desire

Chapter 45 – Bottomless Pit of Desire

Ye Chenyuan clasped Yuan Chu’s hands. He gazed at her pale face, his expression solemn and secretive.

Meanwhile, Venerable Li hadn’t sensed the change in Ye Chenyuan’s emotions. He was still over there, sighing with regret.

“Not to mention anything else, this little girl truly treats you well! I was telling her to interrupt you and have you give up foundation building but she was unwilling. She even chose such a method to encourage you. I would have never imagined you could endure a four-nine heavenly tribulation like that! Once she wakes up, you have to treat her nicely!”

Despite his usual bickering with Yuan Chu, he really did like the little girl. Although she refused to acknowledge him as her master, secretly, he had long loved the girl like a granddaughter.

In the past, Ye Chenyuan would have promised “I will definitely treat her well” in response to these words.

However, today, he did not say anything.

He used his spiritual energy to guide Yuan Chu’s. Once almost all of the pill was absorbed, he supported her and descended into the spiritual spring with her. Within the spring, threads of spiritual energy climbed up their skin. Yuan Chu’s frown immediately relaxed.

Although the lightning that passed through her body hurts a lot, it did not create many injuries for Yuan Chu. After all, she had such a high cultivation. However, if Ye Chenyuan was undergoing a Core Formation lightning tribulation, Yuan Chu would not have dared to do that.

In the end, she still had a sense of propriety when doing things.

Ye Chenyuan hugged her, refusing to let go. The spiritual spring enveloped them. It was cool and soothing, but his heart would not calm down. Rather, his mind was a mess. A big, big mess.

Venerable Li circled around them, somewhat puzzled. “What’s wrong? You just passed a four-nine tribulation. Why aren’t you happy at all?”

That was a four-nine tribulation he was talking about! If other people found out, it would definitely go down in history. Venerable Li had lived for tens of thousands of years, but he had never heard of anyone undergoing a four-nine tribulation at Foundation Building. It just further proved how frightening Ye Chenyuan’s potential was.

Ye Chenyuan leaned on the side of the spring. His voice lowered, he asked, “Venerable Li, what are master and disciple?”

Venerable Li found this question strange.

Ye Chenyuan turned. His astonishingly beautiful eyes seemed to pierce through Venerable Li’s soul.

“Is there a very deep meaning to being a master and disciple?”

Venerable Li thought Yuan Chu’s methods from earlier had shaken Ye Chenyuan. He couldn’t help but smile.

“Of course it’s very deep.” Venerable Li sighed. “Cultivation is, at its base, the action of defying the heavens. You rise by stepping on the corpses of others, and you will continually gain more enemies. There are only three kinds of people who will never leave or give up on you.”

His voice grew more serious. “First are your children. They are your entanglement, your continuation and hope. Second is dao companions. They are people you will be hand in hand with for life. Third are teachers…” Venerable Li seemed to think of something, a smile appearing in his eyes.

“Most cultivators are cold and unkind in nature. Personal benefit comes before all else. Only your master will disregard blood relations to train you with all their heart and be your support in your most difficult times. This is an existence surpassing blood and above your loved ones. They are worth your respect.”

This was also the reason why master-disciple relationships were held in higher esteem than father-son relationships in the cultivation world.

Turning your back on your parents was unfilial. Turning on your teacher was unloyal, unrighteous, unkind, and unfilial!

However, Venerable Li’s words didn’t relieve Ye Chenyuan. Instead, he was even more upset now.

Indeed, Yuan Chu was definitely a good master. Although she looked unruly, she was the best when it came to guiding him, helping him, and caring for him!

Rather, he was not a good disciple. His heart was the one with the hole, a hollow that only she could fill. But even when he hugged her to his chest, he still felt like it wasn’t enough. Perhaps that hole could be called—a bottomless pit of desire!

His desire for Yuan Chu was bottomless.

But if this longing did not come from his feelings as a disciple, what should he do?

——

One day later, Yuan Chu finally woke up!

After she woke up, she was so revitalized like she was injected with chicken blood. It was even impossible to tell that just a day ago, she was curled up in a pitiful ball of pain.

“Master!” Ye Chenyuan immediately held her back. “Your wounds haven’t healed yet. Don’t get up.”

Yuan Chu’s eyes widened, she stared at him in shock. She said in pleasant surprise, “You’re at Foundation Building?!”

Her satisfaction grew in an instant. One had to know, cultivation moves forward by defying the heavens. The more astonishing an evildoer was, the more pain he would suffer in the face of heavenly tribulation. Ye Chenyuan endured a four-nine tribulation at just Foundation Building. This proved that God had wanted to murder him, but could only let go of this evildoer in the end. As the evildoer’s master, she was extremely proud!

Ye Chenyuan lowered his eyes and gently pinched her hand. His voice was silky soft.

“Master, are you happy?”

Yuan Chu nodded eagerly from where she lay on the jade bed.

“Happy! You endured a four-nine heavenly tribulation relying only on your body’s power! If those other peak masters from Myriad Sword Sect knew, they would definitely just die from envy!”

Although she had suffered the tribulation with him, she did not use any of her strength to ensure that Ye Chenyuan would receive the baptism of the heavenly tribulation. She only accompanied and encouraged him. In other words, Ye Chenyuan had truly passed the tribulation by himself and earned a new life.

“It’s all because of you.” Ye Chenyuan’s words were definitely the truth. Back at that moment, he had felt himself giving up. If she hadn’t hugged him and if it weren’t for the energy she gave him by being there, he would not have lasted until the end. All of the ways he had changed for the better, they were all because of her.

Thinking of this, he thought of when Yuan Chu hugged him. The instant the lightning passed through them, they seemed to meld together into one.

How blessed was he to have someone pledge to never leave him, hugging him tightly in the pain of the tribulation?

Yuan Chu and her oblivious self didn’t realize anything unusual about Ye Chenyuan. She patted his shoulder. “No, this is the result of your perseverance!”

With this, she miserably rubbed her stomach. “Oh… Let’s not talk about that right now! Is there anything to eat? I’m so hungry… I feel like my vital energy is injured. Only the roast meat Little Yuan Yuan makes can heal it!”

She turned and gazed at Ye Chenyuan. He saw the shining smile in her eyes and the rotten grin on her tender face and nearly kissed her!

N-no! He couldn’t!

Ye Chenyuan sprang up, practically fleeing in defeat.

“I… I’ll prepare food for Master!”

Suspicious, Yuan Chu frowned and then waved her hand. “Go, go! Catch more beasts so I can save some for later!”

Ye Chenyuan gazed at her cute and delicate face. He wanted to say something, but he instead turned and left the Sky Pearl.

After he left, Yuan Chu pulled Venerable Li to the side. She asked him, puzzled, “Why do I feel like Little Yuan Yuan is acting a bit weird? He seems a bit unhappy after the four-nine tribulation.”

Venerable Li nodded. “I think he’s unhappy…”
