Ever since Jiang Huaizhou told Mr. Jiang that he would be bringing Dong Yujie home, Mr. Jiang had been feeling nervous for the entire day.

He cleaned the house first.

Actually, Mr. Jiang was very diligent. He had always cleaned the house every day. However, he had a higher standard for cleanliness today.

He also went to buy some vegetables at the market. He remembered what Dong Yujie liked to eat in the past.

When Mr. Jiang saw Jiang Huaizhou and Dong Yujie standing together, he felt so nervous that his reaction became slower.

“Dad.” Dong Yujie nervously greeted.

Jiang Huaizhou was carrying everything that Dong Yujie had bought.

He saw how awkward it was between Mr. Jiang and Dong Yujie.

Jiang Huaizhou then said, “Dad, Yujie bought these gifts for you. Should I put them in the living room for now?”

Jiang Huaizhou then carried everything into the living room.

Mr. Jiang didn’t dare to look at Dong Yujie.

He felt sorry for Dong Yujie.

Jiang Huaizhou nodded and smiled.

Mr. Jiang soon came out with a dish of food and placed the dish on the dinner table.

Dong Yujie and Jiang Huaizhou hurriedly went to help.

Mr. Jiang wouldn’t let them help initially. However, he eventually succumbed.

The three placed the dishes on the table before they took their seats.

“You’re still going to drive tonight, so I’m not going to let you drink,” Mr. Jiang said.

Jiang Huaizhou and Dong Yujie were not drinking, but they had juice.

Dong Yujie looked over at Mr. Jiang in surprise.

But she still clinked her glass with Jiang Huaizhou and Mr. Jiang’s glasses.

“Try the food.” Mr. Jiang said, “My culinary skills have become much better than before.”

Mrs. Dong had been the one cooking in the past.

Since the two separated, Mr. Jiang had to take care of himself.

He practiced slowly. Although his culinary skills weren’t the best, they were good enough.

Mr. Jiang then smiled and said, “You should call me Dad. That’s good. You don’t have to change this term of address.”

Dong Yujie felt guilty as she stared at Mr. Jiang.

Mr. Jiang then said, “Don’t stare at me with that guilty look. You don’t owe me anything. In fact, it was me who had wronged you.”

“I had been the useless one, and I valued my reputation more than anything.” Mr. Jiang took another big sip of the liquor.

With the help of alcohol, Mr. Jiang said everything that he normally wouldn’t have been able to say. “Now that you are back, you two should live a good life together.”
