Chapter 11: The Injured Dragon

Xiao Qingyang had become quite familiar with the #1 Forest. He confidently entered the forest, following the well-known paths. Gradually, small animals began to gather around him, drawn by the presence of his spiritual aura. Each time he visited the forest, he would be accompanied by a group of these friendly creatures, and he genuinely enjoyed their company.

Observing the approaching animals, Xiao Qingyang hoped to spot an injured one that he could assist with his healing potion. However, he couldn't find any in need.

"Do any of you have injured companions? I have a healing potion that can help them," Xiao Qingyang spoke gently to the surrounding animals.

These intelligent creatures seemed to understand his words. One of the larger deer approached him and nudged his back with its antlers, directing him towards a specific direction.

Following the deer's guidance, Xiao Qingyang walked for approximately two hundred meters until the deer suddenly stopped.

"Is there an injured animal here?" Xiao Qingyang asked, scanning the surroundings, but there were no other animals in sight.

The deer continued calling out in that direction but remained motionless, as if something terrifying was suppressing it, preventing it from moving forward.

Xiao Qingyang tenderly touched the deer's head, infusing it with a bit of natural energy, and smiled, saying, "Thank you."

After bidding farewell to all the small animals, Xiao Qingyang continued his journey in the indicated direction. He didn't encounter any other animals along the way, intensifying his caution as he sensed the possibility of a powerful wild beast ahead.

After walking for about a hundred meters, he arrived at a large lake, likely a watering hole for the forest animals. However, there wasn't a single animal in sight, further heightening Xiao Qingyang's vigilance.

Carefully concealing himself at the edge of the forest, he observed the lake's surroundings with great caution. Despite waiting for a long time, he didn't spot any large wild beasts. Instead, he faintly heard a weak whimpering sound.

Xiao Qingyang immediately focused his attention and carefully identified the source of the sound. He then proceeded gently towards the direction from which the sound originated.

The whimpering was intermittent, indicating that the creature making the sound was in immense pain. It was highly likely the injured animal that the deer had led him to find.

Xiao Qingyang quickened his pace as he followed the sound and arrived at the lake's edge. He circled the lake until his gaze fell upon a small creature, approximately fifty centimeters in size.

As he clearly recognized the animal, he seemed to freeze in place, resembling a statue.

Under the sunlight, its golden body gleamed, and its plump belly was covered in soft white fur, tempting one to reach out and stroke it. Two underdeveloped chubby wings adorned its golden back, while its little paws curled up, emitting continuous whimpering sounds that evoked a deep sense of compassion.

"A dragon? Is this a dragon?" Xiao Qingyang couldn't believe what he was seeing after getting a clear view of the creature's face.

He had only heard his mother speak of the legends of dragons. He knew dragons existed during his mother's time, but they looked completely different from the dragons that existed during his father's time. However, both were powerful rulers in their own right.

Xiao Qingyang had always been captivated by his mother's descriptions of dragons but never had the opportunity to catch even a glimpse of one. Unexpectedly, this unattainable wish was being fulfilled here.

Although this dragon was a miniature version, it still filled him with excitement.

"This must be the dragon my mother talked about. It perfectly matches her descriptions."

Xiao Qingyang silently added in his heart, “except for its small size.”

Chapter 12: If You Don't Speak, I'll Assume You Agree

"This must be the dragon my mother talked about. Every aspect matches perfectly," Xiao Qingyang silently added in his heart, “except for its small size.”

However, that was simply because the dragon hadn't yet grown. Once it reached maturity, it would surely become as magnificent and powerful as described by his mother.

Unexpectedly, he hadn't realized how incredibly cute a young dragon could be. Wasn't he incredibly fortunate?

The distressed "humming" sound from the golden dragon awakened Xiao Qingyang from his excited state. He then noticed a small puddle of blood beneath the dragon, staining its white fur red.

It was evident that the golden dragon was injured.

Xiao Qingyang quickly approached, eager to lift it up, but he was unsure how to proceed. Standing beside the golden dragon, he felt a bit lost.

Suddenly, he remembered the new curative potion he had been carrying, prepared for animal experiments. Seeing the injured golden dragon before him, he realized it was the perfect opportunity to make use of it.

However, dragons were such formidable beings. Would a low-level curative potion truly be effective? Xiao Qingyang lacked confidence.

Nevertheless, there didn't seem to be a better option at the moment. He had to try his luck. Fortunately, he was certain that the potion he had concocted wouldn't have any negative side effects on the golden dragon, even if it didn't provide any healing benefits. Otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to administer it.

Xiao Qingyang retrieved the curative potion from his pocket, crouched down, and carefully attempted to lift the golden dragon, intending to administer the potion.

To his surprise, at that moment, the golden dragon abruptly opened its eyes. Its golden gaze exuded sharpness and vigilance, piercing through Xiao Qingyang like knives, rendering him momentarily frozen.

Truly befitting of a dominant dragon, even as a hatchling, its gaze was intimidating. Xiao Qingyang couldn't help but marvel inwardly.

"Don't worry, I won't harm you. I have a healing potion here that can treat your injuries," Xiao Qingyang assured, waving the healing potion in front of the golden dragon to demonstrate his sincerity.

The golden dragon's fierce gaze shifted from the potion to Xiao Qingyang himself, and the pressure emanating from its body lessened.

It was peculiar. There was an aura about this person that made the dragon feel remarkably at ease, causing it to involuntarily lower its guard and wariness. Who was this person? This was the final thought that crossed the golden dragon's mind before it succumbed to unconsciousness.

With the intimidating gaze of the golden dragon no longer present, Xiao Qingyang could finally move. He promptly poured the curative potion into the dragon's mouth and anxiously observed the wound on its belly.

The wound visibly healed at a speed discernible to the naked eye, indicating the curative potion's effectiveness. Moreover, it seemed to yield stronger results than the lower-level curative potions in this world, comparable to a low-level healing potion.

However, relying solely on this single vial of potion wouldn't completely heal the golden dragon's wounds. Xiao Qingyang would have to return and concoct more potions for it to consume.

"My home is near the forest. We can't afford to delay treating your injuries. Shall I take you there?" Xiao Qingyang addressed the unconscious golden dragon, but unfortunately, it was unable to respond.

If he could raise such an adorable golden dragon, he would undoubtedly be the person with the most formidable pet in this world. Xiao Qingyang couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction at the thought.

"If you don't speak, I'll assume you agree," Xiao Qingyang waited for a moment before saying while a mischievous glint passed through his eyes.
