For whatever reason, the most only attacked again after five seconds, and Jake had already finished his preparations. When the beast showed up in the sky thanks to the flash of light of the spell, Jake used Appraisal and confirmed what he had thought… defense wasn't one of the fortes of the creature.

When the Thunder Spear was fired, Jake blocked it with a wall of flames. The plan worked quite well, but Jake noticed that the flames decreased in size quite a bit when they were hit. Still, he ignored that and then used Mana Blade at the dark flames wall. Both of them combined a beam of mana, and dark flames flew toward the enemy before the creature could fly away. In the end, the attack hit the monster's chest and a bit of the right wing, but it wasn't enough to stop the creature. Only to make it lose some altitude.

"This thing isn't weak, but I didn't hold back, and the flames weren't that weak…" Jake furrowed his eyebrows.

The monster used its mouth to fire some Thunder Arrows, but Jake blocked those with his sword. At the end, when the beast recovered enough to gain some altitude, Jake fired some Mana Blades at the back of the monster, and those caused critical damage after critical damage and killed the beast. Jake's strength and Intelligence had increased, so the power of that skill probably could split rocks, and yet…

After a couple of seconds, the monster fell to the ground, and Jake approached to check if any parts of its body could be used. The beast was almost three meters tall and five long. So it was quite big… No wonder it needed a spell to be able to fly properly. In any case, the claws and the beaks of the monster looked sharp, but not that sharp. Still, the feathers of the beast looked a bit interesting, he took one to check, and he could see that it wasn't that it wasn't much resistance against physical attacks, but it could be Resistance against magic.

"All right, you guys will take all the feathers first, and then you can get the rest… I probably won't like to see the corpse later…" Jake thought.

Jake still had the materials for the last missions, so he had many things to experiment with. It would be nice if he could improve his weapons with those materials… It would also be nice if Jake could sit still for a while to do that, but he couldn't. Regardless, Jake began to push the cart again, and after a couple of minutes, another Electric Avian showed up. It was amazing how they could approach like that, and he couldn't notice them until they used Thunder Spear.

Regardless, the very moment he saw the flash of light, Jake jumped toward the monster. He blocked the attack with his sword, and he felt the electricity passing through the weapon and hitting him. Jake had activated Thunder Armor, but that feeling was as annoying as it could be… Regardless, Jake recovered when he reached the beast, and while the monster used Thunder Arrows to attack, it hadn't been enough. Jake swung down his massive sword and then cut off one of the wings of the beast.

The beast and Jake fell to the ground, but as one would expect, Jake recovered first. He dashed toward the enemy and then swung his weapon, but then the beast used a Thunder spear before he could hit. The attack hit the sword again, but the paralyzing effect had been even more powerful this time. The monster bought a full second with that and tried to bite off Jake's head. While his body stopped moving, Jake's brain kept working at full speed and used dark flames when the beast opened its mouth. The monster began to agonize, and Jake used that chance to recover and split the monster's head in two.

"I am not going to last long at this rate… My brain will fry… For real," Jake thought.

Jake wondered if he should test those feathers with his armor, but they would look way too weird and gaudy. His armor was too cool to be messed with… so he decided to add them to one of his cloaks since he could equip and unequip them whenever he wanted. While he was doing that, Jake realized that he could use those to reinforce the interior of his armor and prevent that his body touched his armor when it got too cold or too hot for whatever reason… but it felt kind of stuffy inside.

Nevertheless, it didn't take long for Jake to test the improved cloak, and even without checking its parameters, he equipped it when one of those giant eagles suddenly attacked him with a Thunder Spear. As usual, he blocked the direct hit with his sword, and then the weapon conducted the energy to his body. It hurt him a bit, but the damage and the paralysis effect had decreased exponentially. In the end, Jake used Concentrated Strike and Throw to hit the monster with his sword, and while the beast was staggering in the air, he used his new shield and dark flames to hit the monster's neck. It hadn't been powerful enough to behead the beast, but it killed.
