X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 63: Elaine De Rosa

"Hmmmm... The moon is pretty strange... It's filled with sorrows and desire to become stronger..."

Elaine De Rosa was gazing into the moon for a long time now and found that the moon was quite different than usual. Standing somewhere at the top of a grand castle, she couldn't retract her gaze away from the moon.

With the embrace of the cold wind, she was feeling quite sad. Her long crimson hair fluttered elegantly with the wind and her dress, revealing a beautiful scene.

On her hand was a book. She was embracing it to her arms as if treating it as a priceless treasure. It was silver in color and the moonlight reflected on it, revealing some sort of engravings that were impossible to understand by the most.

"What do you think Lil Book, the moon is a quite sad right?" Elaine asked. And it appeared that she was asking the book itself.

"You've got a nice name there... I'm not Lil Book you know." A voice of a woman chuckled. And it seemed that it actually came from the book itself. After a moment of pause, the book then continued, "But you've got it right. Someone on somewhere else is stirring his or her emotion to the moon."

"Haha but you're not telling me your name though so it's fine for me to call you whatever I want." Elaine chuckled softly.

"Sigh, whatever..." The book didn't care. After which, it became silent once again.

Elaine then finally retracted her gaze away from the moon as she muttered to herself with a smile, "X-rank Hunter huh... A criminal chosen by one of the Four Greatest Hunters? How laughable..."

She then jumped from that certain roof of the castle as if it was the thing that she always did. While she was landing, she then said, "Well, it's not my fault for being so outstanding..."

While she was nearing the ground, the wind had as if helped her as her landing had slowed down. Her foot slowly touched the ground and the flutterings of her hair and dress had stopped.

She then made a step forward going in the direction of where the gate was as it appeared that she was going out.

"Where are you going little princess?" Someone in the shadows also saw that this little princess of theirs was leaving, so without any hesitation, he immediately asked.

He was tasked to tail this little princess by her father herself so failing to do this task was simply meant death. Her every action was needed to be watched and letting her go away was not an option. She was a very important figure in their organization after all.

A talented young girl who was not even ten years old and was able to defeat many C-rank Hunters on her own was simply astonishing. Even the top families of Maharlika Kingdom didn't possess such a child.

If they lose her, it was basically, a huge loss for their organization.

"Why are you worrying? I'm just going out for some time, what's there to make a fuss over?" Elaine smiled as she continued her steps.

"..." The man in the shadows didn't say a thing but instead, he informed the head of the organization, Elaine's father. He could tell that this little princess was leaving and he wouldn't be able to stop her just by words.

After getting the permission of doing anything just to stop her from leaving, even by force, the man in the shadows was just about to make a move when suddenly, another young girl appeared at the gate, obstructing the path of Elaine.

"Oh? So the prodigal daughter will finally leave again?" The young girl spoke with a chuckle.

Surprisingly, that girl was no different from Elaine in terms of appearance. Be it their hair, figure or the sound of their voice was almost no different to each other. Anyone could immediately tell that they were blood sisters. Or a twin perhaps.

"Hmmmm... You can say so." Elaine replied with a chuckle as she continued her steps, walking past the young girl in front of her as if the other party was just a wind.

"You..." The young girl was annoyed. She was trying to frustrate the other party by calling her a prodigal daughter but it appeared that she was the one who ended up being frustrated. "Don't get too cocky! Just because father favored you more doesn't mean that you can do everything you want!"

"So?" Elaine didn't even bother to turn around as she continued to walk away.

"You..." The young girl was really frustrated beyond words. She couldn't hold herself any longer and immediately rushed towards Elaine. A dagger appeared on her hands as she intended to brandish it against Elaine with all her might.

She really hated this person even though she was her elder sister. She was always put behind her and she couldn't surpass her in any way. Her sister was favored by everyone as she was kept in the dark. Though she was quite talented as well her sister was just simply incredible and was always the one who was put in the limelight.

No matter how hard she worked, her sister who kept idling around was always a step ahead of her. She was forced to grit her teeth and was forced to always watched the back of her elder sister.

Right now, her dagger was about to land on the other party's back as she felt a little excited. If possible, killing her would be best but their father wouldn't allow it. So injuring the other party a little was the most thing she could do.

But unfortunately for her, when she thought that her dagger was about to land on her sister's back, she found that she couldn't push forward any longer. She couldn't even move any of her fingers.

She was stuck in the midair!

What's happening? The young lady was terrified. She tried to retract the dagger or move backward but to no avail.

"Tch tch..." The young girl was still figuring out what was going on when she heard Elaine clicking her tongue. After a few moments she heard her elder sister with her disappointed tone of her voice, "That's why you will never surpass me, your control over your emotion is too weak."

Elaine then turned around as she raised one of her hands and then flicked the dagger with her finger. The dagger then flung away, swirled in the midair, and then pierced on the ground after it landed.

The light of the moon reflected on its blade as well as to the eyes of Elaine gazing at her sister.

"As a person who is born to kill, emotion is useless to us. I mean you can be happy, sad, angry, or fall in love but never let your emotion controls you... How many times did I tell you this, Ellen?" Elaine lectured. Her facial expression was emotionless as she stared at the other party in contempt.

She didn't give the other party a chance to speak as she raised her hand making Ellen float in the midair.

"What are you doing!" Ellen was terrified. This was the first time she saw her elder sister doing something like this. It was a feat only a Middle Ranker or above could do!

Directly using one's World Energy to affect its surroundings was simply difficult, no, impossible for the Low Rankers. So it only meant that her elder sister was already a Middle Ranker!

But how was that possible? Ellen could tell that her elder sister's World Energy was still too thin.

Is that Mental Energy? Ellen could only think about this. She knew that her Elder Sister was using this energy to overpower her opponents. It was just that, she never thought that it would become this strong.

"Nothing, I'm just sending you back. Tell father that this prodigal daughter of his is leaving for some time. You can also take my seat as a little princess if you want." In the midst of her deep thought, she heard Elaine talking at her with a smile.

"You!" Ellen was rather angry though. Of course, she liked to have the position of her elder sister who was in the limelight. But she never wanted to have it that way. Giving up the limelight to her was simply an act of pitying her so why would she accept something like that?

She would rather choose to be put in the shadows than in the limelight of which she was unworthy of it.

"Don't be shy, tell father and mother that I will come back... I'm a genius after all." Elaine chuckled softly before she snapped her finger as Ellen vanished right away. She then turned around and continued her steps forward.

The man who was watching in the shadows was just about to make a move when he suddenly received a new order from the head of the organization to let his daughter go. The man didn't dare to disobey the order as he vanished with the shadows.

Meanwhile, Ellen appeared somewhere on the top of the castle. From the window in there, she could see the faint silhouette of Elaine leaving away. "That bastard!" Ellen could only grit her teeth.

"Let her be..." Ellen heard a voice from behind her. She didn't need to think deeply about who was it. She hurriedly turned around and immediately kneeled one of her knees on the floor. "Father... are you watching us?"

Her voice showed a hint of fear as she didn't dare to turn her head up to see the face of her father.

"A baby eagle would definitely leave their nest someday to spread their wings. But it seems like your elder sister will spread her wings ahead of time." Ellen's father of whose silhouette was faint sighed deeply. He then walked towards the window beside the kneeling Ellen and saw his daughter Elaine already far away.

"..." Ellen didn't dare to speak any more words and she didn't dare to stand up from her kneeling.

"Stand up Ellen, from now on you will be the little princess." A voice of a woman sounded. Ellen knew full well that the other party was her mother so she didn't dare to disobey her and immediately stood up.

"But I'm not worthy..." But that time, Ellen wasn't too happy and she really felt that she was unworthy of being the little princess.

"Haha what are you talking about, your elder sister is just simply talented that's why you felt that way. But if we look to the past generations of the little princesses or princes, all of them except the first generation had just as the same talent like yours." Her mother explained.

But that was the truth. Ellen also knew about this. Only the founder of their organization, 'Triangle of Sin', had the same talent as her elder sister. So why would she compare herself to those monsters?

Ellen only nodded her head and asked, "But what about elder sister?"

"Hmmmm..." Her father and mother didn't speak for a good while before her father finally spoke in regrets, "She will be forgotten."

"?" Ellen didn't understand at all. Were they trying to forget the existence of a talented genius? That was simply stupid. She was completely bewildered so she asked with her head turned down, "W-what do you mean father?"

"Sigh, it's basically what I have said. Your elder sister is cursed and her existence will be forgotten by us and at the same time, she will forget about us as well." Her father lamented, helpless to do anything against it.

"Cursed?" Ellen was surprised beyond words this time. She never thought that there was such a matter.

She turned her gaze outside the window to see her elder sister only to find her nowhere. She then gazed at the moon instead and felt the sorrows from it.
