X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 86: Toy With Him

"The Evolving White Wolf is actually Kuya's tamed beast? And that gorilla as well?"

Jasper just found it really inconceivable. Not to mention Evolving White Wolf, even the gorilla that appeared to be an SS-rank beast because of its ability to morph, really was unbelievable if you found that its master was actually an F-rank Hunter.

"Did you help him?" Jasper asked his mother. This was the only guess he could come up with to satisfy his disbelief.

But contrary to his expectation, his disbelief only grew stronger when he heard his mother saying, "No."

"N-no?" Jasper repeated as if he was waiting for an explanation.

Charley saw him like that as she sighed deeply and replied, "It's one of the Four Greatest Hunters who helped your Kuya."

"O-one of the Four Greatest Hunters?" Jasper widened his eyes in astonishment and disbelief. He still was yet to recover from his earlier disbelief and here they were, another disbelief greeted him.

Not only him, even his uncle Chad had the same feeling as him. They both felt that the more they learn about the situation, the more their disbelief grew stronger.

And also, one must know that matters concerning the Four Greatest Hunters were of utmost importance, why would the other party say something like this very lightly as if it was nothing at all.

It's one of the Four Greatest Hunters you know! Even if I am your younger brother, and little Jasper is your son, you can't say something like this very lightly you know!

Chad and Jasper had even thought that Charley was just joking but they both gave up that thought after seeing her seriousness.

They never thought that there was actually a good reason why Charley was speaking about it lightly. It was just that, she was too lazy, or to put it more correctly, too tired to even think of that reason. All she wanted now was to enjoy her precious but short moment of time she still had with her son Jim.

On the other hand, and at that moment, Jasper and Chad both decided to stop asking any more questions and try to digest the information they currently had instead. As what was said in the sayings, 'Don't bite more than you can chew!'

Almost at the same time as well, Jasper and Chad shifted their gaze to Jim instinctively. The other party was currently talking with his little sister and they were both happy.

On the other hand, Jim who was talking with his little sister felt uneasy. He was just forcing himself to smile in front of his little sister but he could actually hear the talkings of his mother, younger brother, and uncle.

They were just talking about him taming such beasts and the matters about the Four Greatest Hunters, how could he not feel uneasy?!

He already knew that this would happen, that there was something that couldn't be hidden no matter how much you try, he already prepared himself long ago about this. But now that it was made known, Jim really felt uneasy especially when he knew full well what would happen next.

He knew his younger brother well. Though he wasn't boastful, his pride was simply great. If there was an impassable cliff obstructing his way, he wouldn't give up that easily unless he gave it a try.

That being said, Jim could tell that his younger brother would definitely challenge him into a fight!

And his premonition was paid off when he saw his younger brother walking in his direction.

"Kuya let's fight!" The moment Jasper came closer, he didn't beat around the bush and directly asked for a duel.

Jim didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He wanted to laugh because he just saw how his younger brother became completely powerless in front of his tamed beast, Bantay. How laughable was that to ask for another duel?!

On the other hand, seeing the gazes of his uncle, mother, and grandfather around him, Jim really wanted to cry. He could feel that the moment he went too far and beat up his younger brother, the fated beatings for him, later on, couldn't be avoided.

What the heck! Why are you all so biased?!

Jim didn't know what to say. He frenziedly racked up his brain to seek for wisdom. But before he could even say anything, Jade beside him stood up mightily for him. She faced her big brother Jasper as she challenged haughtily, "If you're looking for a good beating why not fight me instead!"

Jasper's mouth twitched wildly as he forced his bitter smile to not come out only to fail. He turned meek and tried so hard to lower his pride before his younger sister as he responded, "No, I'm not worthy as your opponent."

Jasper could feel that his little sister already had World Energy in her. Regarding her awakened ability, Jasper was still yet to find out. Though he wanted to know it, he wouldn't go so far as to fight his beloved little sister just to find it out.

"Hmph! Good thing that you know." Jade harrumphed coldly as she continued with her usual haughty attitude, "If you know that you can't beat me, don't ever dream of fighting Kuya Jim. Because you are more than unworthy for that!"

In her eyes, her big brother Jim was still the person who hadn't awakened any ability yet. She could also feel that the World Energy in Jim was actually thinner than her.

And her big brother Jasper was actually challenging her big brother Jim? Was he trying to bully her big brother Jim? Was he tired of living? Jade was just trying to protect her big brother, Jim, oblivious to the fact that Jim was actually the monster here.

On the other hand, Jim felt touched seeing the action of his little sister. In the many years of his entire life, there was finally someone who stood up for him!

And not only that, his backer was actually the strongest. The most precious child in front of his family! The one treated by everyone including him as the most precious, Jade Jabat!

Even the Burning Legion guild and even the Mausig Family who banished their mother from the family treated Jade very highly and gave her huge importance.

Jim and Jasper didn't feel any jealousy as well. They were even proud that they had a younger sister such as Jade.

But now, the most precious child was trying to protect him, Jim really wanted to cry. He just held back his tears and let his smile come out instead.

Meanwhile, Jasper's bitter smile became more awful seeing that his little sister was trying so hard just to protect his Kuya Jim. He could tell that his little sister still hadn't realized the incredible power of their elder brother.

But well, the other party wasn't completely wrong. He really was unworthy to fight his big brother who had the help from one of the Four Greatest Hunters! Just by this fact alone could leave him no place of standing on the same ground as his big brother.

But of course, Jasper was happy to know that. He wouldn't stoop so low and go so petty enough just to envy his big brother. After all, for so long, he could see the sufferings of his big brother whether it was at home or in the academy.

In the academy, though most of the students didn't directly bully his big brother, he could see from their gazes the disgust and contempt. And Jim was forced to face it all alone. Jasper wasn't able to always stand for his big brother and accompany him since he was so busy enough as well on his own business. He could only use his name to prevent someone from bullying his big brother.

Even so, his big brother didn't give up. Even before when he was yet to be admitted to the academy and couldn't use the World Energy, he could see the resoluteness and the unwavering determination of his big brother.

And now, his big brother finally became stronger and had obtained a power stronger than his own. Jasper really was happy for him. Yes, he might be prideful but each and every one of his family was his pride. If his big brother, deemed by everyone as useless trash, finally became so strong, wouldn't it mean that it was a good thing for him as well? How proud was he upon knowing that?

Right now, all he wanted was to check the strength of his big brother by himself. Not just the other party's tamed beast, but his big brother himself. Surely, if the other party was capable of taming such a beast, he was pretty strong himself right?

But his little sister was trying so hard to block him! What should he do now? If he said to his little sister that their big brother Jim was actually strong by himself, the other party would only agree haughtily and would insist on fighting her first before he became worthy enough to fight their big brother.

Jasper was helpless. He didn't want to fight his little sister. He was afraid that he might accidentally hurt her somehow.

Jasper was just about to give up fighting and do it later once his sister was not around anymore when he suddenly thought about something else. "I will take back my words. What I mean is I just want to play with Kuya."

Jasper changed the term 'fight' to 'play'. But everyone around here except Jade could understand more clearly that these two words actually had the same meaning. Jasper was just hoping that his little sister would fall to such tricks.

"Play?" As expected, Jade actually pondered about it if she would consider it. It was just playing, what was wrong with that? Besides, she herself wanted to play as well. It was fun after all.

"Yes. Play. I just want to have some fun with Kuya. After all, we just met each other after so long. Can't you let us play?" Jasper added some more fuel to let the fire go wild.

"Ok!" And as expected, Jade actually agreed. She shifted her gaze to her big brother Jim happily as she said, "Kuya Jasper wanted to play, go toy with him!"
