Fallen Fate Online

210 The Connection

"Do you think Zayne will be okay?" Alice asked, sitting at the same table as Alex.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Alex gave her a questioning look, picking up a bottle of whiskey. He filled their glasses one-third full, bringing his to his mouth and inhaling the pleasant smell.

Alice frowned, "Didn't you see? What happened on the bridge isn't normal at all. Fallen Fate can not only give us abilities and powers, but it also changes our minds."

Alex smirked, "Before Fallen Fate Online, Zayne was just a simple guy from a poor neighborhood with a bunch of problems on his shoulders, now he's a real superhuman, but that's not the most important thing."

Alice raised an eyebrow.

"Don't forget that he's been through a lot of battles. Unfortunately, neither you nor I were present for them, but considering what kind of power he has, it was something special." Alex shrugged before taking a sip of his favorite whiskey.

"Anyway. His transformation into some kind of beast... It's not some kind of skill, it's something else, and it's something absolutely creepy." Alice frowned, "I think everyone forgot that in the beginning he ripped a piece of flesh from Elein's neck and swallowed it. That's crazy."

Alex said nothing, he just smiled slyly, swinging the glass slightly from side to side. He too was under the impression of Zayne and Elein's fight, but he had a different opinion.

"Well... What about Elein? Her strength was different from Zayne's one. If he was a wild beast who fought only with his emotions and instincts, then she during the fight, turned into an experienced warrior who gave an account of her every action." Alex muttered with a glance at Alice.

Alice waved her hand, "I'm not interested in her. Elein will always be alone, I know her well enough to be completely sure of that. However, Zayne is another matter. He's not used to making new acquaintances and being in the spotlight, but he doesn't mind it."

"Oh, you want to make him a leader? I'm not sure he'll go for it." Alex muttered with a slight smile.

Alice shook her head, "No, he's not a leader, but he's not a loner either. He's a warrior, and the fight on the bridge showed that. I just hope Fallen Fate doesn't give him any more detrimental attention."

Alice continued, "If he has to go through even more bloody and brutal battles than before, he might actually sink into madness. I'm not sure how strong his psyche is."

Alex drained the glass completely, set it aside, and took a deep breath.

"This is a pointless conversation. In order for us to decide anything, we have to get that power ourselves. I too would like to become dramatically stronger thanks to some creature, however, we still don't know how to do it." Alex frowned.

They didn't ask Zayne about it, since they understood that he didn't know how to provoke such a transformation that gave him great power.

However, they had a complete video of their fight, they watched it over ten times, trying to figure out exactly what Elein had done to make the winded samurai appear over her. They came to only one conclusion, and they weren't at all prepared for it.

"We need to put our lives in mortal danger, don't we?" Alice looked at Alex, who was leaning back in his chair with a nonchalant face.

"Yeah... I guess so... I have to admit it's pretty weird." Alex muttered with a bitter smile.

"Hmm?" Alice gave him a questioning look.

"I mean, there have been many situations in my life where I could have died if I had made a mistake. However, when I think about Fallen Fate, it seems different. Originally, it was a simple game, but now, it's become more important than life."

Alice waved her hand, "I don't agree. Even though Fallen Fate, it's a real-world from another dimension, the complete merging still hasn't happened, and there are many steps to go through."

"First, our stats began to transfer, then if you use Chaos Coin, wounds, physical condition, and even death are transferred. However, some things are still unique to Fallen Fate and are not available in our world."

Alex nodded, "Yeah, but I'm sure that will change soon. At first, we thought that transferring stats was the limit too, but then Chaos Coins came along."

Alice took a deep breath, drained her glass completely in one gulp, and looked out the window with a deep gaze.

They all had a long and fascinating journey ahead of them, in both worlds at once, and they had to know more than the others in order to keep the lead.

While ordinary people are just beginning to play Fallen Fate and get their first levels, they are already thinking about very different things.

So was Zayne, who, instead of a well-deserved rest, was right now in the middle of a battle for which he was not at all prepared.

The two knights that were much stronger than the previous ones were heading in his direction. They moved very slowly, but they did it on purpose, to prevent Zayne from taking advantage of the short delay between their actions.

"Well, well, looks like I shouldn't have tried to destroy you all at once, right?" Zayne muttered, staring intently at the knights. The deep cut on his back was still bleeding and sore, but he wasn't paying attention.

Crackling.

Suddenly the Knights stopped as they crossed their axes, thus greatly increasing the power of the blue flame emanating from the blades.

Then, the Knights raised their axes above their heads and dropped them to the ground with all their might.

Two waves of blue flame headed straight for Zayne at breakneck speed, intent on burning him to the ground.

Zayne's pupils narrowed as he lunged forward. He didn't jump aside, for he saw a better option-he could have just run between the streams before they closed in at the end.

At the last moment, Zayne managed to get across the boundary, and the next second the two streams collided with each other, triggering a tremendous explosion. If Zayne had been in the center of the explosion, it would have torn him apart.

'Nice, their axes faded slightly. They must have used a lot of energy to do it. Damn, I wish I could kill two of them at once.' Zayne pondered, choosing which of the two knights he would attack.

Step.

The right-handed knight stepped forward sharply, and as Zayne blinked, the knight disappeared from his field of vision.

"Agh...?" Zayne's eyes went wide, then a tall dark silhouette with a menacing aura appeared behind him.

"Shit!"

Zayne made a quick roll forward before the axe came crashing down on him. It may have just saved his life, but that was not the end of it.

The second knight was already attacking, but Zayne seemed ready for it, as he quickly lunged forward, finding himself behind the knight that was about to bring his axe down.

"Damn, you're pretty strong, but I'm still faster than you, aren't I?" Zayne spoke coldly before grabbing the knight by the head.

He didn't try to destroy it like the last time since the knight was now protected by a massive helmet, but Zayne had another option.

Crackle.

Zayne kicked the knight in the back and at the same moment, with all his might, began to pull his head up, gradually pulling it away from his neck.

It might not have worked against a living creature of flesh and bone, but against an elemental made of flame, it was an effective way.

As Zayne had anticipated, the knight disintegrated into pieces, and even his armor could not protect him from such an attack.

"I can deal with the third bastard, but what about you...?" Zayne muttered with a deep stare at the last knight.

Every time Zayne defeated one knight, the others became stronger, so now the last knight should have absorbed the power from all three and become the final boss.

However, that didn't happen, at least not yet. The knight stood in one place like a statue, waiting for something to happen.

Zayne frowned but did not attack. His palms were seriously burned, and the bleeding cut on his back was still making him uncomfortable. He couldn't afford to get hurt any more.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Suddenly space trembled as amidst the endless darkness, a bright white flash appeared.

"What is that...?" Zayne muttered looking at the flash that swirled around them, gradually getting faster and faster, accelerating almost to infinity.

Zayne tried to follow the flash, but soon it was impossible to do so as it was moving too fast, turning into a single ring due to the residual trail.

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

The flash flew next to Zayne, practically touching him, and flew into the last knight.

The knight's body erupted in the white fire that completely engulfed him. All Zayne saw was the silhouette of the knight, which gradually changed, becoming slightly lower and smaller.

"What the hell...?" Zayne muttered, looking at his new adversary.

It was him, or rather his copy of the white flame with fists covered in blue energy and eyes burning with scarlet flame.
