“Huh?”

The door of the restaurant, which was about to close, suddenly stopped. Flustered, Noah rubbed her neck. Come to think of it, Adrian had unfastened the restraints he had put on so that it didn’t rub her skin 

Coincidentally, Kyle had taken Noah to the Imperial City this morning and touched her without the restraint, her skin seemed to have chafed before she knew it.

Without realizing it, Noah waited for a sign from the door of the restaurant, but she felt a little disappointed when she didn’t hear any sound of Kyle returning.

It’s not like she was a little kid who can’t even apply medicine on herself without Kyle. Since when did she need a butler?

Noah opened the door to the restaurant, controlling her bitter heart. And as she was about to step out…

“Ah!”

Someone grabbed Noah’s shoulder and swung her around. A large hand tilted her head back before she could even grasp the situation properly.

“You’re unbelievable…” 

Kyle seemed to be criticizing something in a rather annoyed tone, but he looked up and couldn’t continue once he met her gaze.

While Noah was frozen stiff, Kyle’s eyes roamed around her face and stopped at her neck. Noah thought he was looking around her neckline, the area which often rubbed against the restraints, but then his eyes looked down.

Kyle looked at her left wrist. Fortunately, Noah’s left hand wasn’t used as often as her right, so it was without any scratches. Kyle murmured with a short sigh.

“… You make me unable to take my eyes off you.”

When Noah heard those words, realization slowly came in. Oh… I’ve been avoiding him for days because I felt rattled whenever I encountered him.

“Go apply some medicine and wrap it in gauze before you go to sleep. If you want a scar on your neck, I won’t stop you.”

I think I like Kyle Leonard. Not as a butler but as a man.

“I don’t understand why you think my feelings have been hurt and are rebelling but if you’re angry, just say so and please keep in mind the basic rules in life. I’m saying all of this for Miss Noah’s sake. Until when should I follow you around and take care of you?”

What’s there to like about a man who speaks like this?

“If you keep being like this, I can’t work anymore. Please cooperate. Please.”

Did I originally like this kind of person…?

Noah grabbed his hand when he moved away from her, feeling very confused.

“Are you busy?”

“What?”

“I said, are you busy? Are you going on a business trip? Do you have to leave right now?”

“… not really.”

After hearing Kyle, Noah belatedly realized her mistake. She was sure Penelope had been waiting for him since earlier, after all, he didn’t hide how busy he was. 

They say you can’t let your emotions get to your head, but apparently, our relationship is not completely one-sided…

Was it an illusion?

Whether it was an illusion or not can be checked another time. The unknown tremor that shook her in the past had turned into expectation, creating a strange heat. Noah had a dry mouth, swallowed, and waved a hand.

“Then let’s go to where you were going.”

Fortunately, Kyle lost to Noah again. Of course, there was a price. Noah couldn’t come with him unless she wrapped her neck and wrist with bandages.

“Miss Noah, clothes.”

“I’ll go change!”

“In case someone recognizes you….”

“A hood! I’ll wear one.”

If Noah made Kyle angry again, he wouldn’t come near Eleonora’s house, so she decided to keep him in a good mood.

As Noah looked up at Kyle with eyes wide open and an eager face, Kyle looked suspicious.

“Can’t you just have one mood per day?”

“I’ll do that from now on.”

“I’ll do that from now on!”

Muel copied Noah’s words as she spoke. Kyle sighed as usual and carried Muel away from her.

“Okay, we’ll see. For now, we’re going to the annex of the Investigation Security Bureau in the Rendia District. It’s less eye-catching than the headquarters and it’s a new building, so we have more security, therefore we’ve sent the witnesses and evidence over there.”

Kyle guided Noah to the car and shut the door. He walked around to the driver’s seat and started the car. The handbrake was pulled down, and the car started smoothly.

It took about 20 minutes to arrive at the Bureau in Rendia. Kyle saying that he had an appointment with Penelope was not just an excuse, because when they entered the annex, Noah saw Penelope waiting with a bunch of papers and a tape recorder.

“Is there any resistance?” 

“There’s not too much. Now Paul is in interrogation, and it’ll probably be over before dawn.”

“Okay.”

Kyle gestured to Noah with his eyes. Noah quickly followed him up the stairs and headed to the upper floor.
