In the afternoon, when Feng Ye arrived at “Three Thousand Food House,” he noticed that there was an extra table beside his usual seat. On top of it, there was a small sign that read “Seat No. 2,” while his own table had a sign that said “Seat No. 1.”

Feng Ye: “……” I thought it was supposed to be the only one?

He turned his head towards someone, who was busy cooking with great enthusiasm and didn’t notice his arrival at all. Feng Ye fell silent once again and quietly sat down at his usual spot, observing the person.

In the beginning, Bai Xianzhi was very sensitive to his presence. Whenever he appeared at “Three Thousand Food House,” Bai Xianzhi would immediately notice him, arrange a seat for him, hand him the menu, and prioritize making his dishes.

So, when did the time he spent waiting for someone to notice him in the restaurant start getting longer? Feng Ye couldn’t recall exactly, but it seemed to have been going on for quite some time now. Every day he came to “Three Thousand Food House,” he would wait for over ten minutes.

He could have easily reminded Bai Xianzhi about his presence, as he had done such a thing in other places before. Although it was rare for anyone to ignore him, unexpected things could happen in life.

However, this time, for some reason, Feng Ye didn’t want to speak up. It was like a child being sulky, holding his breath and waiting, watching to see when the other person would finally notice him.

It might seem childish, but he wanted to do it this way, and indeed, he did so.

Every time Bai Xianzhi accidentally discovered him, he would feel regretful, pat his forehead in apology, and immediately prepare his meal. It happened like this every time, yet he would still be ignored the next time.

This made Feng Ye feel frustrated, like punching into cotton, only making him feel more suffocated.

Although he felt frustrated, he decided not to speak up and remind Bai Xianzhi again!

At this moment, Feng Ye sat on a chair, quietly watching Bai Xianzhi busy with his back turned towards him. The aroma of the food filled the room, and he felt a bit hungry, but he was still willing to continue waiting. For some reason, he felt that his mood was much worse than usual today. He had been considering whether to tell someone about the silly things that Feng Baoer and Feng Beier did yesterday before stepping into “Three Thousand Food House.”

But now, he had decided not to say anything.

Bai Xianzhi had just finished preparing a pot of hotpot soup base and was about to ring the bell to call Tu linlin to serve the dishes when two girls who had ordered hotpot came directly to the counter. They looked at him with innocent, wide eyes and said, “Boss, we can handle it ourselves!”

“Uh, alright then,” Bai Xianzhi carefully handed the pot to them, but the two girls didn’t leave. They seemed hesitant to say something. Bai Xianzhi asked, “Is there anything else?”

One of the girls with leopard ears exchanged glances with her companion and quickly scanned behind Bai Xianzhi before asking, “Boss, who’s the handsome guy over there? He looks so attractive! Can you ask for his contact information for us?”

The handsome guy over there?

Bai Xianzhi looked back in confusion and met a pair of silver eyes directly. He felt a sudden jolt in his heart, and then he stiffly turned his head away, mentally berating himself!

Completely ignoring Feng Ye’s presence at “Three Thousand Food House,” how many times had this happened?

He couldn’t even count it anymore; Bai Xianzhi thought in despair.

Similar situations had happened to him before with his uncle and some of his college buddies, but he had always attributed this selective ignoring to his subconscious knowledge that these people were close to him. His body and subconscious had grown accustomed to their presence, much like how one wouldn’t feel alert when the closest person approached them.

When this person appeared, his awareness did note it, but deep down, he knew that this person posed no threat to him. He was certain that this person would never harm him, so he thought it was fine to finish whatever he was doing before going to greet him.

This explanation made sense with his uncle and friends, but now he had selectively ignored both of his only customers in the restaurant. What was the rationale behind this?

Bai Xianzhi felt that his usual explanations might have been wrong all along.

He felt like his brain wasn’t functioning properly, but he was currently busy, and it wasn’t the time to ponder this. The two girls in front of the counter were still waiting for him to inquire about the contact information. He smiled faintly and declined, “I’m sorry, but that gentleman is a VIP in our restaurant, and we have an obligation to ensure his dining experience is undisturbed. I cannot inquire on your behalf, my apologies.”

The two girls looked disappointed, but they understood, “It’s alright, Boss, we understand. He’s a VIP after all. We’ll find a way to get his contact information ourselves. He’s so handsome; we’ll definitely succeed!”

Bai Xianzhi smiled, “Wishing you the best of luck.”

As he watched the two girls leave, he turned to Feng Ye. The piercing gaze from those silver eyes made his head ache slightly, but he forced a smile and said, “Mr. Feng, I’m sorry again for not noticing your presence in the restaurant. It’s entirely my fault!”

Upon hearing the apology, Feng Ye felt his mood improve a bit. He nodded, “It’s alright; I’m not in a hurry.”

Bai Xianzhi sighed, “Even if you’re not in a hurry, it’s still not right for me to repeatedly ignore you like this. How about this, Mr. Feng? Next time you come here, just ring the bell on the table, and I’ll know you’re here.”

It was indeed a practical solution, but Feng Ye didn’t want to use it. He preferred sitting here, waiting for Bai Xianzhi to notice him.

Sensing Feng Ye’s resistance, Bai Xianzhi didn’t say anything more. It was his problem, and he would find a way to overcome it. If necessary, he could always have Tu linlin remind him.

Thinking like this, Bai Xianzhi smiled and asked, “So, Mr. Feng, what dishes would you like to have this time? As compensation, all the dishes at our restaurant are free for you today.”

Feng Ye skillfully named several dishes, and Bai Xianzhi noted them down while recalling the two girls’ description of the person in front of him—handsome!

The silver hair, silver eyes, and a hint of the Chinese anime enthusiasts’ cosplay feeling were there, but the person in front of them had a strong presence that almost dispelled that impression entirely. Moreover, his high nose bridge and lean cheeks seemed to match some of the characteristics of those handsome guys circulating online.

However, Bai Xianzhi is a pure Chinese person, and he always found silver hair and silver eyes somewhat strange. Besides, from childhood to adulthood, he never understood what it meant to be handsome or beautiful.

Starting from kindergarten, the popular girls in his class seemed no different to him from others—everyone had two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. He couldn’t see what made them more attractive. However, many boys liked to pull their braids, and they kept doing it repeatedly. Bai Xianzhi had no idea why this was the case.

As he grew older, he finally learned that it was due to the attraction between opposite sexes. However, even with this knowledge, he still couldn’t tell who was good-looking and who wasn’t.

So, he had no idea that the somewhat peculiar-looking Feng Ye, in his eyes, turned out to be handsome in the eyes of others, and apparently very handsome.

But… these facial features… seem… no different from the other customers outside…

If the two girls in the restaurant could hear Bai Xianzhi’s thoughts, they might get infuriated!

No difference?

Damn, no difference!

This difference is huge, okay?

Having lived for so long, they had never seen a man with such charisma and beauty combined. Even in the crowded and noisy Three Thousand Food House, he sat there as if he were in some high-end hotel, elevating the entire establishment to a whole new level. How could he dare say there’s no difference? Is he blind?

Thankfully, they couldn’t hear him, and Bai Xianzhi wouldn’t speak out his thoughts. So, he escaped the fate of being ridiculed and criticized for underestimating a small girl’s crush on a male idol.

In the following days, Bai Xianzhi never ignored Feng Ye again. However, Feng Ye couldn’t feel happy because he noticed that every time he arrived at the restaurant, the bunny-eared round-eyed staff member would shake the bell in their hand, and then Bai Xianzhi would immediately notice his presence.

Ultimately, it wasn’t Bai Xianzhi who discovered him; it was the staff member.

One day, after finishing his meal at Three Thousand Food House and returning home, Lin carefully asked, “Master, do you still have to wait for a long time to be served?”

Out of selfishness, Feng Ye didn’t tell Lin that he had been ignored. Instead, he told him that he was understanding and willing to wait a little longer.

Feng Ye glanced at Lin and said, “No.”

Ling was puzzled, “Then why do you still look unhappy?”

Feng Ye was taken aback. Yes, why was he still unhappy?

It was strange.

Time flew by, and the New Year was approaching. One month in advance, Bai Xianzhi posted a message on his account, announcing that Three Thousand Food House would be closed for ten days. At the same time, he handwrote a notice and posted it in the restaurant, to ensure that no customers would be unaware and come running on New Year’s Day, which would affect their festive mood.

After finishing the busy tasks on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth lunar month, Bai Xianzhi settled Tu linlin’s salary in advance and gave him ten days off. He asked him to go back and spend time with his grandmother, and he also prepared a large package of food for him, including dumplings, crispy pork, hot pot base, and more. It was like the New Year goods from Three Thousand Food House, even though the orc world didn’t celebrate the New Year.

Afterward, Bai Xianzhi also prepared two gift packages for the restaurant’s only two customers, consisting of dumplings, crispy pork, and hot pot ingredients, serving as their New Year’s gifts.

Upon receiving the gifts, Qing Shu appeared very happy and said she would come to the restaurant to recharge ten thousand time coins after it reopened. Bai Xianzhi told her there was no need since she hadn’t finished using the ones she had previously charged.

The other customer, however, reacted calmly. There was no change in their expression, despite Bai Xianzhi’s gift. Although he didn’t expect anything in return, their calmness somewhat diluted Bai Xianzhi’s joy.

However, in the afternoon of that day, Bai Xianzhi received a return gift from the “calm” customer—a spatial overlap device. Inside, there was a piece of extraordinary paper with a simple message written on it:

“You should be able to use this.”

— Feng Ye

It was concise, direct, without any unnecessary words, just like its owner.

Author’s note: The author noticed that some readers found the situation at the Time Moon Hotel and the resolution to be a bit strange. Here, the author will share their thoughts.

Firstly, in this story, Zhizhi is not someone who despises evil. When his dishes were imitated at the Time Moon Hotel, he would certainly be angry, but not to the point of exploding. As stated in the story, these dishes can be found all over China, so they are not Zhizhi’s patent. Therefore, he naturally doesn’t have the feeling of his property being infringed upon.

Secondly, Zhizhi is genuinely too busy. Three Thousand Food House is only that big, and there are limits to the number of people they can accommodate. Most of the people who go to the Time Moon Hotel are those who haven’t had a chance to try the dishes at Three Thousand Food House, so the impact on his business is minimal. Zhizhi wouldn’t be too concerned.

On the contrary, after resolving the issue with the Time Moon Hotel, Zhizhi is responsible for providing recipes and waiting for his share of the profits. Isn’t this a win-win situation? Don’t be so stubborn about money.

Lastly, my lovely readers, please understand that the Time Moon Hotel is a subsidiary of the Space-Time Group, even though I didn’t explicitly state it. I think you can tell. The boss of the Space-Time Group is Mr. Feng! In other words, the Time Moon Hotel is an industry that Zhi Zhi establishes in the future!

So why would he harm his own interests?
